MO forecast has been all kinds of wrong this morning.

Grey and drizzling/rain since first thing. Sat24 looks a bit more promising.

Very blowy here, strong enough gusts that blew plant pots half way across the garden...

Also hail?

Yeah, I saw that too. Thursday into Friday also had heavy rain, then thunder and lightning, then the hail that yours shows.

Almost worth staying up for.

It's gone now though. :lazy:

I had the hail too at the exact same times, but alas, it is now gone.

ARPEGE showing sub-zero temps for Wales with snow in the mid-afternoon on Sunday! Crazy! But we know that it's probably an outlier. :(

Hey Guys,

Travelling back from 6 weeks in France working and getting the ferry Thurs night to Portsmouth from Le Havre leave at 10pm and arrive 7am on Fri. Not looked at models for ages and see that it could be an interesting crossing! Do people think that it's going to be really nasty? Wasn't really showing a few days ago and MO give it low likelihood atm on the warning. Do you think they might cancel the ferry? #hateboates! #wantanotherdayinbordeaux!

thanks

bel

Love a good storm but if it's too bad they won't let me outside and that's when things normally go wrong for me!

Our garden arbour blew over today during the 40mph gusts earlier. I dread to think what might happen to it if these big storms happen over the coming days. :( It's only a month old aswell.....:unsure2:

I'd have a look at deals on the Channel Tunnel, mate. Latest EURO4 has mean windspeeds of 50 knots tonight (Force 10):

And then you might need to navigate the fallen trees!

We tried to get the kit booked on the tunnel but they can't take the rig until Mon and its booked somewhere else then! Looks like it's going to be the ferry  my only hope now is they cancel it and sail tomorrow afternoon.

As I mentioned in the storm thread, wind speeds are nowhere near what the current forecast suggests. It has either weakened or it's moving through slower.

We have had winds of 18mph through most of the day with plenty of 23-28mph gusts this afternoon.
Last hour its calmed down a lot, wind dropped to 10-15mph and a handful of gusts in early 20s.

Forecasts have had us for 40-48mph gusts for the last few hours.
Must be taking its time to come through.

Definitely the calm before the storm here. Quite calm at surface level but clouds are racing by up above.

Rain Looking very heavy not far away.
