A very nice photo and a good example of Ac Und.

Yes lovely, was surreal to see it. The wind direction was in line with the cloud streets/bars which I couldn't fathom out as am used to seeing clouds like this up in Scotland across wind (Lea wave trains which look identical) so it was a new one on me! But very lucky to see it.

Maxed out at 20.3°C here today after a nippy start.  Long sunny spells and a good selection of cumulus through later morning and early afternoon.

Great day to do some garden tidy up before the rain tomorrow. Some cumulus looking ominous during the afternoon but remained dry, with a cooling breeze. Currently 16.7°C.

Light grey morning so far.
A low of 12.9c at 3am
Now 15.8c, very light Southerly to SSE wind.
Barometer has fallen since 1am at 1017 to 1012.9 now.

Watching radar for the rain and wind heading our way. Looks to be an hour or so away.

Morning All, the rain appears to have arrived already but it is light and patchy, whether that will change during the day is an open question, given the main area of rainfall is currently travelling eastwards across the central midlands.  Currently 14.1°C & RH77%.

The radar suggests the heaviest rain stays further North from here, as it moves East. Euro 4 is a bit wrong, again. It suggested 20mm falling by midday, yet we've just had fits & starts of drizzle amounting to 6.2mm. The same thing happened on the 16th.

Temp 14.7°C

Yeah, very different up here in Stroud! Heavy rain, occasionally moderate, for a fair few hours now and the worst to come! Can’t measure how much, but will be intrigued by the end of the day. Not had a day like this for many months.

Thoroughly disgusting since the start here today. Mostly light rain this morning but heavier since lunchtime. The warmer uppers moving in will likely prevent this being a sub 15C day though, which is often my informal announcement that autumn has begun.

Wet, windy and cool all day so far. Currently up to 10.8mm with what looks like plenty more to come.

Goodness knows what has happened to my sensor, it's reading 29.7c!!!!!

We had a great week in Sidmouth and were so grateful for a mostly dry week, every morning started dull/drizzly then became fine, bright and warm.

Reduced to drizzle now, but still managed 25.6mm. My ponds have topped up to the point of flooding the path slightly. 8.2mm fell between 2 and 3pm.

Best part of half an inch in old money to a few minutes ago, 1.2mm to 09.00GMT and another 12mm to now.  Temperature is up to 17.8°C out there now, feels warmer out than in.

A huge amount of rain from that lot! Just went out to look and measured 37.3 mm. It was almost overflowing into the gauge! A few lighter bits of rain around now, but that will probably be most of it for today. Wouldn't be surprised if that lot put the months rainfall above average now.

Temperatures have definitely risen over the last few hours as the low brings in warm air blocking off the cooler air from the NW. Currently 17.6°C down here, the warmest its been all day. Collected a nice 20.6mm here.

Had 23.9mm here.
Non stop heavy rain from midday till 5pm.
Pretty much stopped now, just a little light drizzle.
Not as windy as predicted (forecasts had us for 30mph winds and 40-48mph gusts).
Wind was S to SSW 12-18mph with a handful of gusts between 23-28mph,

What a thoroughly depressing afternoon it's been here in Hastings/St Leonards on Sea. The rain arrived shortly after midday and has been relentless ever since, with winds now gusting around 30mph.

Nearby Herstmonceux has so far recorded 19.6mm today, bringing the months total so far to 102.6mm and it's still pelting down. Although the temperature has now reached 15.7c it was just 13.1c at 2pm ( bst) this afternoon.

Pretty shocking for late August.
