If it's any consolation, we had about an hour of mizzly drizzle (technical term) down here in the deepest South Hams about 8.30, now it's brightened up quite nicely. You will hopefully be lucky too!

There's a definite brightness in the sky now after a dull and damp feeling start.  Patches of blue sky and the gloom lifting to slightly higher cloud.

The standard low cloud and drizzle this morning but a sudden clearance has brought about warm sunny spells since midday. Breezier than yesterday.

Quite a damp feel this morning. Seemed to be clearing at around 11:30 with about 5 minutes of sunshine before quickly clouding over again, and that was it. Top temp 22.4C but felt humid through the day.

Another warm night, with an overnight low of  18.4°C and currently that temperature. RH76% and a complete layer of  stratus, with some patchy drizzle to go with it.

What looked like no chance of rain, suddenly turned into a feisty line of rain which hit Bournemouth about 12mins ago, feisty outburst for a couple of mins..

The heavy rain that was forecast for this morning turned out to be just drizzle.

It's looking pretty clear between the two cold fronts, so hopefully a decent enough morning and afternoon.

Warmer than expected today with a high of 22.4°C. Feels a bit cooler now with an increasing breeze but still not as cool as it seemed it would be.

The second front looks to have a lot less oomph than the first. In Bournemouth this morning it was heaving it down, whilst here nothing, whilst in Wareham ( as usual LOADS).. The next one looks more like it's dying rapidly as it moves east.

Hey all,

Almost freaky looking sky here - solid paralell lunes of what looks to be cirrus stretching right across the sky - anyone else seeing this?

Yes, I saw them when I took the dogs out. Not sure what caused them, almost like a lea wave train only they were upwind/down wind as opposed to cross wind (which one would expect of a lea wave train) I did wonder if the upper air was at 90 degrees to the lower, which could cause it.

I assume they are not the spreading out of contrails? Just a thought

Driving home yesterday (only local), out of the corner of my eye, I saw trees looking distinctly Autumnal, I think they were oaks, but couldn't get a proper look due to traffic and road conditions. Also, berries aplenty and ripe windfallen apples! Add this to the chill in the mornings and the dew, and hey presto, Autumn is just around the corner! I am so glad that the hot sweaty weather has gone. Time for something refreshing and beautiful now!

Decent spells of sunshine between 6 and 9am. Mostly cloudy now, but dry. Also, very breezy, gusting to 26mph. Temp reached 19.4°C.

No rumbles here but some fairly heavy rain over the last 20 minutes or so. 2.2mm in that time. 15.5°C.
