Well you got your late afternoon sunshine, I'm sure..

We did and it was lovely. We popped in to see some friends in Christchurch on the way down, so didn't get there until later.

Smashing sunset from Mudeford Quay and back home before 9pm.

overcast and generally just dull ....

Would you believe it, my Weather station packed up at the beginning of June, so I've missed all the stats in this  that heatwave

tomorrow is going to be a wet start and frasher but then Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

Becoming warmer and more humid over the next few days. Largely cloudy with a little light rain at times, but some sunny spells are also expected, especially in the east.

Morning All, the British summer has returned! Breezy and drizzling, so pleasant a start. Currently 17.2°C at: 06:20 as the overnight low, with RH76% and rainfall so far at 1.0mm, and the window cleaner is currently washing the windows!

Genuinely don't know what to do! What is this stuff coming from the sky!

I know it's only Aug 16th but with the switch away from the long dry hot weather to more normal summer it almost feels like autumn has come... The wife will want the heating on soon!

Hissing down here too and our window cleaner came on Tuesday!  I know some folk, not in this region, who have already 'tested' their heating, so your wife will be in good company, warmintim!

Got a proper soaking on the walk into Downton this morning.

Wet weather gear when it's too too warm isn't pleasant. BBQ later

Rain's just let up.  12.1mm to 09.00GMT, mostly gentle so, hopefully, will have penetrated the ground well.

Skies just beginning to clear in Salcombe. Not sure what time it was (possibly 4 or 5am), but the rain was thrashing against the windows which woke me up.

Looks like a day of sunshine and showers for the remainder

Nice bit of blue heading this way from the North West and the MO symbols are trending the right way.

It was showing a cloudy afternoon, before a sunny evening. Now showing sunny intervals.

This mornings front was certainly active! I think it's the first time since April that my waterproofs got a good soaking at work! Got a bit over 18mm in total, at home, which was a lot more than expected.

The absolute definition of a day of 2 halves.

Heavy, briefly torrential rain and gusty winds until late morning which gave 14mm and a mostly sunny, breezy afternoon.

Very yoyoing temperatures, 16.8c at 06.00 then rapidly down to 12.4c around 11.00 and an eventual maximum of 20.1c this afternoon!
