6.3mm today and all seems clear to the west.  No rumbles or flashes, just short lived moderate showers.

Keep you eyes on the skies on the South coast. The Red Arrows have just flown over.

On their way to Cowes week, I guess.

Had quite a bit of heavy rain this afternoon, a few of five minutes that were pretty torrential.
Have recorded 29.5mm today, but looks to have all stopped now.
We did not though get the thunder or any of the strong winds forecast, SW wind was 12-18mph with a number of gusts 20-25mph.

No thunder here today, but finally had a meaningful shower a couple of hours ago, producing an 87mm/hr rain rate. 6.8mm the total. Wind gusts got up to 34mph as well. Temp maxed out at 19.6°C

A vast improvement this afternoon but still cool and too breezy for the balloons.

Weekend also looking naff. Summer where did you go?! Left a few weeks too early...

Ended up with 34mm of rain yesterday that all finished around 7pm.
It got down to 9.7c at 6am. Not been anyway near that for months, with only a few of the lowest minimums hitting 15c, most 17-20c

This morning, its very damp, garden nicely watered :)
Slugs everywhere, but all collected last night and early morning and all now in the next year nematode bucket. They have had a long hibernation.

Back to lovely blue skies, 14.6c, 1023.8 hpa, very light NW wind.

Morning All, an overnight low of 7.2C starts the day, not been that cool for many months. Looking forward to some more of the crystal liquid after the start yesterday which has perked the plants up a treat.

Chilly last night. Sunny earlier but cloudy already and that's it for the day. All very summer 2017esque.

Overcast and light drizzle @ 17.1°C

If we take the charts at face value Db, we'll be getting more than drizzle over the next 24 / 36 hours.

Euro 4 showing 2 inches for parts of Dorset:

I'd forgotten how quickly air masses can change in Atlantic driven conditions!

From chilly, clear and sunny this morning to dull, muggy and drizzly now.

Nothing short of rank this afternoon. Already sick of the rain. The weather's not even interesting.

That 'orrible fine drizzle persisted all afternoon here, you know the sort of thing, makes you wetter than a downpour cos you're daft enough to go out in it thinking it's not really raining!  It wasn't the best weather for the village show, but we coped.

Big fail from 90% of the models on this one. The Euro4 is the worst of them! Hardly any rain here.

40mm showing by midday. We've only managed 3.2mm.

When I woke up I wondered why it was no longer raining and we only had 4.8mm out of the 22mm we were supposed to get!

Unless we are in for hours a deluge style rain, I think the models are way OFF kilter, as the rain moves rapidly away NNE we are not going to be under rainfall threat for much longer today.

8.4mm to 09.00GMT, very little since then, mostly drizzle.  Max yesterday was 18.8°C and is currently nearly back up there having dipped to 10.8°C overnight.

Yep. As far as calamities go, today is up there with the best of them! Forecasts completely wrong, as are the public models. It's not as if it's a localised issue either, it's quite a widespread fail. NetWx SR shows 30 - 40mm  as well. Euro 4 is 34mm out lol

I was hoping for a large top-up for my pond, as the last 10 days have seen a lot of evaporation.

We have had some drizzle here for last hour, just pushing 0.8mm
The temp though has dropped from its 20c at 10am to 17.3c now.

Models seem to have been near the mark here (and much of Devon/Cornwall), 25.4mm since midnight, and 5.6mm yesterday.

Yesterday had a surprisingly cool min of 4.6C and then only reached 17.5C in the cloud and dampness (mean temp was the coolest of the summer).
Last night a much milder min of 16.0C. No sun yet today either and the highest so far is 18.9C.
