Maybe tomorrow will be the first decent day for longer duration thundery weather this year then.

Looks like there will certainly be plenty of showers about and more then there were today so its just whether or not they will be beefy enough to produce lightning.

Morning All a cooler morning greets us today, with an overnight low of 9C. Currently 10.1C and RH82% with patchy rain showers in the area.

Fair enough. Hadn't looked at the forecast since lunchtime. Hope this clears sharpish. Supposed to be showing friends from Malta around Bristol today!

All that drizzly rain gave us was 1.6mm. We did have a little shower this morning at 5am that gave us 0.4mm.
It has brightened up this morning, but light grey and cloudy but not seeing the rain and thunder that the forecasts are showing, yet.
Was 14.8c at 2:30am.

Now 18c, 1018.5 hpa, wind SW, just picked up to 10mph and some 18mph gusts.

Don't know if anyone else saw it last night but I saw some faint occasional flashes to the southeast of here past midnight last night before i went to bed so either it was lightning going on somewhere or fireworks.

Certain it was lightning because of the way the flashes flickered. And i know heat lightning is a thing where on a clear night you can see lightning from long distances and there is no thunder because of how far the storm is.

Well, after having the thunderstorm icon on me for the last few hours, the MetO have removed all traces of them. Not looking so good now.

Ha. Same here.

It looked like the end of the world on the met site this morning. All changed to the odd heavy shower now.

We'll see what happens if the Sun pokes through. Still, it's great to see the East of our region with a Tornado symbol in it.
