Some  intense storms moving across the channel - with a sizeable leading storm - looks like the south coast could take a direct hit.

Storms over Cherbourg and in the channel are currently fairly weak, however they are now starting to expand. IOW will be first

Forgot to post, yesterday reached 27.7C despite almost full cloud magically tracking over here until lunch time (had got to 26C), then rose a bit despite the sea breeze. This became more effective about 4pm when it dropped quickly to about 23C.

Low 10.6 last night. Cloudy all day today, reached 22.3C with a touch of brightness, thanks in part to the high SST's. I hope Sunday's weather doesn't reduce these too much by giving the seas a good mixing.

It feels a bit like deja vu here at the moment.Just like it often is when hoping for snow in the winter. The much needed rain is too far West, or too far East, leaving us in the gap in between.Hoping for something later on tonight!

Sods law the long run of cloudless skies had to end today with a total lunar  eclipse occurring tonight which by all accounts is going to look spectacular, if you get to see it that is!

Had thunderstorms all around over the past few hours, some great lightning strikes but more worryingly very little rain.

0.3mm fell over the last 2 hours.

With the ground being as dry as it is, fires sparked by lightning could be an issue!

It looks like our intended beach afternoon in Poole on Sunday isn't going to happen! Boys 2nd birthday treat will have to be delayed!

Glorious day today with plenty of hot sun and a brisk wind, we managed 28c again! Generally cloudy now and temperature taking a dive at 24.2c .

Very dark clouds to my north and thunder here in Paris. No rain apart from the shower earlier

Some undulatus spotted earlier as the cloud rolled in, but that has disappeared now as we are plain ol' overcast with a breeze which seems to be increasing in strength. Earlier channel borne showers have gone way too far to the east..You have to look all the way down to Nantes to see anything that might decide to provide a shower now as the slight opportunity from the west has faded rapidly.

Only a max of 25.3°C. Currently 20.9°C and cloudy. Just a measly 4.7 hours of sunshine today. Poor by this Summer's standards.

Thunderstorm risk in the Southwest tomorrow has dried up. Not doing very well this year!

Looking at the Sat24 radar, seems to be some pretty rapid development out to sea to the west of Cornwall/Isles of Scilly. Is that what Convective Weather's SLGT warning is for Friday night for the SW? Or is that intended to be later on in the night?

So bloody frustrating, we had clear blue skies yesterday evening, right now we have a cloud sheet with no breaks in sight. We're going to have the longest blood moon ever seen this century and the good damn cloud is going to ruin it by the looks of it, unless it becomes more broken in the next hour or so.

Sometimes I really hate the weather!
