We’ve had some rain! Ok so it only lasted about a minute but it’s actual rain.

0.6mm from that which is more than the whole of June.

I'll forgive you getting my name wrong! Think we're going to be too far West tonight but we can't complain as we've nailed 2 plumes already this year.

I I'm not happy because I want a thunderstorm and I like the thunderstorm in back in April and  seeing thunderstorms Southampton way but not giving out much light on the real lighting rader

I wouldn't call this a plume, Andy. The heat originates from around Germany, rather than Spain/Africa.

Edit that: Have we even had a plume yet?

Patience my dear Tom, patience :)

Keep an eye on that stuff in the channel.

Even if you’re too far west you might be in a nice position to see some anvil crawlers on the horizon - just possibly

I usually post in the South East thread but I am on the eastern side of the Island at the moment. We’ve completely missed the rain but looking over to the west there have been some pretty amazing skies...

Watched the storm over Bournemouth from here, some beautiful clouds around this evening.

Humidty has risen sharply within the last few hours

Still 27.8°C; DP 20.1°C.

Uncomfortable.

Not a plume as you and I would know it, some channel insurgence but not really a classic plume yet. Patience the year is but young..:nonono:

Gone very under the radar and haven't heard much, but the potential for a few nasty thunderstorms for us late Fri Night into early Sat Morning. Moderate CAPE, High DLS with the perfect trigger of the front looking interesting. Not a scenario I've really ever seen...

Well according to the radar we've had some significant rain in Wantage.  We haven't.   All that reached the surface was some isolated heavy droplets I think.  A light dampening.

Indeed it is, Nick highlighted the potential in his storm forecast. Busy right now I'll update later.

Although more humid than yesterday, the air is a lot cleaner today and the sun feels stronger than yesterday.

I see we're now under a yellow warning for Sunday. Typical the only day i didn't want any rain/wind, was supposed to be going down to the Helicopter Museum to watch my brother go on his flight (birthday present), don't think there's any chance of that now!

Good afternoon! After a low of 17.2°C it's sunny and 24.8°C

I see there's a Met Office warning out for strong winds and rain on Sunday. I'd rather not have any of that to be honest. It'll just make a mess of all the plants that have been growing so well this Summer. Also, Swanage carnival starts and Camp Bestival is on - what a pain in the jacksie! A chance of thunderstorms affecting the Southwest tomorrow morning too.

19c low here at 5am, now 25.6c, 1009 hpa, very light SW wind.
Its feeling very muggy today.

Strong winds go away also, my beans and sweetcorn are doing great at the moment.
I will take some rain mind.
They have winds forecast here hitting 50mph on Sat and 45mph on Sunday :(

So the 41 day dry spell here came to an end yesterday with the brief very heavy shower early evening. At least I know my rain sensor still works.

Mostly cloudy so far today but the suns coming out now. 21.9°C.

After a low of 17°C overnight, temperatures are now responding well to the sunshine and we are up to 29°C currently and feeling humid.

Sunshine is now turning hazing with altocumulus filling the sky rapidly now. Radar looks interesting with some showers and storms moving north in the channel.
