Blimey there is rain around the Bristol Channel! It's heading slowly SE while the wind here is from the East so that's interesting already and suggestive of convergence.

A very hazy/smoky morning here thanks to fresh fires on Salisbury Plain, some sun and Altocumulus.

Interesting! Had some welcome rain on my commute to work from Stoke Gifford to Bedminster down. Not particularly heavy but has given everything a good soaking, wet roads etc. Just what the plants needed!

Hoping for some storms at some point. The Bristol storm shield has worked too well this year.

Beautiful sunny start this morning, however some towering cumulus have now appeared blocking out the sunshine, appears they are forming above me but quickly falling apart. Clearly lacking lift right now, but give it a few hours for the sea breeze to develop to aid convection and we shall see!

23.9c with sunny spells

Getting heavier now. This is too funny, as I have to go and put the village marquee up for the Church in the next village in an hour.
Coincides with the first rain in Christ knows how long.

They must have angered their God. ?️

This afternoon has turned out to be a lovely sunny afternoon.
Some light cloud passing over now and again, looks like a lot more cloud to the North of us.
Temp was was only a high of 23.1c at 4pm, now 21c.

No rain and looking unlikely that there will be any this evening.

Two pointless showers this afternoon, the first where the boy and I counted 9 raindrops in 5 minutes then a sharper one around 18.00 . It's currently extremely black to the S/SW, the radar indicates downpours a few miles way and probably a shock to the system for The Deverills/Mere etc.

Currently coolish at 17c and a lor of grey crud has spoiled what was a lovely start to the day. Let's hope it burns off, we get a decent storm with some decent rainfall before a return to more warmth.

Well that's the drought over here.....been under that cell that popped out of nowhere west of Swindon. Just dropped 15mm in half an hour as practically building on the spot. No thunder or lightening though, hoping that may happen later:)
