It's that cell north of brighton. It's got an anvil now.

Two claps of thunder heard just along in Saltdean.

Downs topography and recent sea breeze initiation seem to have aided this, develpment now to my East along toward inland of Eastbourne.

However, I'm bathed in blue sky on the coastal fringe.Storm cloud being 'eaten at the edges' on the coast side.

Good sign to see stuff firing so early in the day... Good luck everyone in the risk zones!

Heading straight towards us. May drive towards Portsmouth then (fingers crossed if it lasts) follow along the m27.

Sun's now properly broken through in Oxford, took a while, but plenty of time for storms to develop.  Potential's there, any road:

There is no trigger really further inland for storms to fire, convergence near Brighton initiated the only cell currently on radar, anything above the M4 is highly unlikely due to the cap in place.

The land breeze maybe too strong for a sea breeze to overcome west of the iow, this would completely remove convective potential here.

arrrgh....stop copying the whole post and then just adding a one liner!.....see supacell's request earlier 😄

I’m new to this so haven’t had time to look through posts to see the message so please don’t get het up. I’m not the one who is writing massive paragraphs. And certainly don’t know how to do that.
