The sky looks slightly unstable this morning...

As has been said above the charts for this weekend (bit far out at the moment though) are insane!!! Decent enough potential across S-UK this week for similar kinds of storms has we saw today - small, discreet but very potent! From Friday onwards though the potential skyrockets. Let’s go hope he conditions come to fruition. 5-7 days out not ideal.

Cant resist sharing - terms and conditions apply! All chart grabs are 18z each day starting Friday

Nice.

First signs of convection in tower hamlets. Small cumulus forming already. It's 8.30am and already feels very warm in the sun.

I don't expect too much to happen today. Chance of an isolated cell or two East London, down towards Eastbourne later today. Maybe some isolated showers up in North West Scotland too.

Just for fun of course, but home-grown MCS anyone?

Insane chart!

We are getting ridiculously spoilt recently with potential like this. Some of the best I’ve ever seen in terms of severity combined with longevity. The whole of bank holiday weekend has pretty much carbon copies 4 days on the bounce. Stupendous!

As long as the storms hold off until late evening on the Sunday i'm happy with that! Can't have a deluge ruining the Great Whitchurch Pub Race.

It all sounds too good to be true

But back to the here and now - my car thermometer is reading 25° and I see clouds bubbling up

Defo feels like there could be a storm. Gonna drive 20mins to my west towards Horsham, have a coffee/do some work somewhere around there and wait and see what happens...

Just remember these charts are being generated of the back of wildly exaggerated dew points from GFS i.e. 23C in the south west.

Come on people, you should know not to get too excited by this so far out. I could list many previous setups that have looked like this and not come to pass.

I think it’s the sheer number of opportunities we’re being presented with over the upcoming weeks that’s getting people excited, not necessarily the finer details

Had a few rumbles of thunder here in Cuxton from that cell passing by just now.

A friend in Cowden, Sevenoaks just told me he's got very loud thunder there. Bright sunshine in tower hamlets but I have been watching a few towers going up this afternoon. I'm leaving for home soon on the bike, so as long as anything holds off until I get in I'm good with that.

Don't fancy riding through possible hail which can smash my fairing to bits!

Can see the anvils of the storms over Kent from here in south London, little shear evident to tilt the anvil it seems

Nothing yet. Does feel like it's about to burst though. Getting more humid by the minute.

It’s really humid out there right now. Got eyes on the anvil of the cell over Kent but it’s moving the wrong way! Not ruling anything out though...

Not great pictures due to the sun being directly beside it, but I took 2 photos of that thunderstorm between Tonbridge and Tenterden
