This storm was intense!! 84 strikes per hour, insane. Widespread Torrential thunderstorms.

Hi all  :)

Don't give up just yet, here in Kidderminster, after waiting all day for something, it's finally kicking off.  Looks like a couple of systems are heading in this direction, frequent lightning and thunder, not as much as at the weekend, but closer this time.

Think Wolves might get some action soon.  :)

Think we need at least an amber out for fog now! If I put my arm out in front of me I might have to call the police to come find my hand! Seriously it’s soaking out there to the point the trees are dripping! It’s like it’s rained!

Nowt compared to Sunday's,that was a one off, i think i counted a few dozen raindrops and that has been it, unless it just bursts into life overnight.

Really quite regretting the decision not to go chasing this after work. Looked quite un-promising about 5-6pm but I bet its pretty spectacular down there right now! @Supacell was heading Oxford way last we heard and he's been quiet since, presumably enjoying the show :p

Correct! I headed east as could not see any more happening where i was and ended up in Stow-on-the-Wold. I was then treated to storm after storm with big bright flashes, CG's and loud thunder. For a time there was frequent lightning too. In Stow itself I drove through some incredible rainfall, it was so heavy I had almost no visibility. Lots of flooding too.

For a day that started to look like a disappointment after a forecast of severe thunderstorms, I can safely say I just witnessed a severe thunderstorm! What a great end to a great month for storms (well the last week of it anyway).

Was there a lot of IC? I figured there would be a lot of mid-level cloud about too - and the rain was a real pain on Saturday night although I do like driving in heavy downpours (and stopping usually when it gets too much!)
