Is it Sunny in Dorset and Southampton ?

Nope, dull and cold, currently only 16C in Bournemouth. Clearance of cloud coming into the Channel however for all but the extreme south east temps likely to be a long way below forecast.

South and west weather forecast Thursday:

After a misty and murky start, it will slowly brighten up to give some warm sunny spells, although scattered heavy showers and thunderstorms are likely during the afternoon. Humid. Maximum temperature 24 °C.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

Staying warm and humid on Friday, with further scattered heavy showers and thunderstorms. It'll be mostly dry with sunny spells this weekend, once early mist and fog clears. Feeling fresher.

nothing here but rain. The lightning had fizzled by the time I left for a walk in the peak district. No thunder that way either.

Yup, really good set up for really intense thunderstorms. I wonder if they'll do the conveyor belt thing like they did in past days.

It's trying to brighten up here.

Nothing but overcast skies with some dark cloud-bases, moderate rain and the smell of ozone in the air. At least the rain being put down today is good moisture for tomorrow's forecast storms to utilize.

Must stop using this, must be strong for you to smell 13 miles away

Idk how to upload a video on here so there's the link of a flash I recorded around 5am this morning when the storm passed East Anglia after losing energy in the midlands.

Some cloud breaks coming up for far SE. There’s a chance of some disorganised cells popping up - I think I read somewhere about possible convergence up from south coast to London? Don’t know if that’s now possible

Possibly the late evening period sunshine will help but not much activity is expected.

The warning for Thursday looks wrong as well. I believe both Thursday and Friday the storms form more north and central UK. At least that's what I'm seeing so far.

Met office always seems to contradict what everyone else is saying. It's very strange.

That ol' chestnut! I have seen similar comments hundreds of times on here, and it's usually because the said person is not in the warning zones. The Met Office have done a great job thus far - I haven't seen any other forecasts that have contradicted theirs.

Feel free to post some evidence and charts, of course. :)

Agreed Marpantz: the fact that I didn't get any thunder, last night, hardly makes the Met's warnings rubbish...

I'm not saying it's rubbish or anything. I got a thunderstorm this morning with intense rainfall and I wasn't in the warning area at all. I also saw those guys who do those convective forecasts taking about North and Central UK. They also said birmingham is a good spot. I swear you just want to argue with me and cause things to go off topic.

I'm just saying what I've seen I don't need or want a response from you everytime.
