It’s true what you’re saying, it’s just for the general public who probably have very little if any knowledge behind the real dynamics of storms. They would not be able to for example distinguish the difference between a surface based and an elevated storm for example, it’s just a storm to them! Same goes with windshear, cape shear and mixing ratios etc!!

If you’re after as much detail as possible, head to estofex, Nick Finnis or convective weather and hi resolution models. Your average joe would yet again have no idea about them!

just to comment on this finaly. You are dead right but regarding the last bit; it’s difficult/frustrating when the high-res models/Convective Weather/Nick are saying different things than the Met warnings/text forecasts like yesterday. From now on I will be trusting the former a lot more.

Crazy day and it's STILL going on.

Some radar images of earlier...

Wow. Lightning strikes were very slow to register on netweather but there was thunder and lightning every 20 seconds or so in brixton for hours.

Can I just point out that lane hoggers in lane 2 today forced me to legally overtake on lane 3 which was covered in surface water and potentially dangerous, just because they didn’t want to use lane 1.

What’s wrong with these people?

Seriously it’s a massive problem and it’s getting worse and worse - but in conditions like these it’s bordering on stupidity

It drives me bloody insane. The number of times I've had to pull out into lane3 not because I'm a speed demon, but because of the middle lane joggers who are going slower than me in lane 1

West? That's us then.

I've been out of the loop since yesterday so I'm oblivious to what's forecast tonight and tomorrow. Working from home though, always a bonus.

I don't think my body could cope with all that!

Back to storms, I had no idea, that's brilliant news. Another night of caffeine awaits.

Quit thinking like that. There's always a chance.

Rain running along Southern coasts in the early hours, but questionable electrical activity and rain intensity.

Looking forward to some mist and light drizzle over the next few days  Goodness knows why Norfolk is such a storm desert now, must be payback for the 80s....

Possible MCS exiting the Dutch coast now. There’s hope!
