I thought that was heading your way. Seems I’m missing it again at the moment.

Seems to have stopped with the thunder but the rain is now torrential and falling on fairly firm ground. Quite a few poodles..

Really quite bad here at home. Roads at times have been rivers during the more torrential downpours (there have been a few). Quite a bit of ligtning too and lots of rolling thunder.

Exactly!

Stopped for now, cooler and fresher and my allotment will be happy. Still looking pretty dark to my NE.

How can anybody say the warnings over the last few days have not been warranted!! There has been flooding in various areas, a tornado, lightning strikes, power outages.... No warning has ever stated that everybody in the warning zones would be affected, in fact they have all specifically stated that storms will be hit and miss.

I had a warning in Belper for heavy rain and storms on Sunday. There was nothing, but 30 miles away there was widespread flooding. Hence the warning was warranted.

You took my post out of context - I also tried to make clear it was a personal rant too, and I totally understand the difficulty in forecasting.

Unfortunarely the weather will do everything it can to be difficult and if it can change direction at the last minute I dare say it will!

Moving away now. Lots of flooding up to wheel arches! Haven't seen rain of that intensity for years. Very loud thunder too.

All the drains do that on my street when we have really heavy rain.

The roads around Maidstone aren't coping too well with the rainfall total either..

I've been waiting for this Cell to eventually make it's way from France since about 9pmn last night, and now it's here it seems to have parked itself slap bang over the office, talk about slow moving!! We're right next to some huge cranes so I've got the camera trained on them and just waiting to see if it drops anything, we've had a couple of close strikes in Camden already, but the rain is biblical.

Selfishly I'm hoping that we revert back to night time storm action from tomorrow as a) it's easier to capture and b) I've got three days off with my little boy and the prospect of indoor activities with him over half term makes me die inside a bit......plus we got all out summer stuff out in the garden.

Alarming photos and reports coming in from Kent. Hopefully it'll ease and we won't have any more casualties (thinking of Walsall the other day).

This is incredible. The storm has been backbuilding from southeast kent for the past 4 hours and still going strong! Never seen anything like it.
