Wind picked up slightly and I can smell rain now. It might be trying to backbuild this way. If only it were a bit darker outside.

Sat in the garden in Bexley watching the beast grow. Amazing how quick this has got going. Heading away from me sadly further into London but rumbling away constantly

Still hearing regular thunder but notably the updraught is tilting with the upper southerly winds. This has every chance of turning severe. The updraught is looking still very robust indeed

Right under pathway alas I’m on the S Sussex coast so annoying! Flash flooding a real concern in urbanised areas crazy rain rates.

Not a storm, I am in Dereham, Norfolk and was never really in with a shout of anything happening today, but it has been glorious and warm. Then about 15 mins ago things got cloudy, then suddenly very hazy - almost misty. Most peculiar for the end of a hot day. You could see the mist drifting like fog through the trees not too far away. Not seen that before.

On my new favourite hill in Farncombe with direct view!

i think I may just get kick with this one as it seems to be on a direct course, but if it can keep going I don’t mind if it veers slightly north of us, then I avoid the rain

Short storm just passed over heading west, with quite heavy hail mixed in.

The second one behind looks tasty.

That hail is a very good sign. It means it has a strong updraft.

Amazingly we’re back to blue skies again, but there are some menacing looking clouds pushing in from the east, and I can hear rumbles of thunder still.
