What's the best chance we're going to get storms in the east Midlands in this next coming week?

South and West looks to be most at risk going through this week.

Flashes becoming more frequent; As was the case last night, Lightning Maps is struggling to pick up most of the lightning.

That storm in the Channel is certainly trying to reach us here !

Anyone in Kent or Sussex make anything of those cells in the channel or that one that’s currently going off on one approaching Calais region?

Let's face it, when are the South and west never at risk and when do they never get storms in the storm season.

It's so frustrating because we used to get loads of storms but it's been like 6-7 years since we've actually had a storm at all.

What percentage would you say the risk is for the east Midlands.

Lots of lightning here in Aylesbury from the storms near Milton Keynes I’m so close.

That storm was absolutely nuts!

We got a fantastic storm over here near Dublin last night. The best I’ve ever witnessed. The lightning was prolific. Akin to the storms ya get on the south coast of England.

Ive been waiting 25 years for last night to happen. When you say 6-7 years and your situated in E England (a place I’d love to be in for storms) I just laugh lol

Was cutting the hedge this evening when I caught the storm over Aylesbury on the horizon. Rather unexpected chance to try something new and went for a timelapse. Light wasn't on my side but it came out ok given that I was filming from Mid Sussex (some 60+ miles away)

Must have been pretty epic underneath that lot!

If that happens I will forgive the weather gods for yesterday’s disaster

I'm watching and hoping too. Maybe we could be in with some luck?

no

There's never storms here. There's never any risk of storms here.

It's disheartening and depressing.

Sat next to a lake watching flashes of lightning out in the channel, hoping they'll get a little closer. It's still so warm out!

It's nothing like last nights spectacular lightning display here  but it certainly seems to be perking up as it heads my way.

That's not true. Much of England and Wales has been under a risk of storms over the last few days. It doesn't guarantee you'll get one, just like I didn't yesterday, and I was in a MDT zone.

I'm not holding hope of getting any this year in all honesty.

Had a lovely show in the garden this evening...as did many of you guys n gals. Here's my contribution to the images. Sorry it's a bit short: I don't know how to compress file size other than extreme editing. ✂️

I must say over the years we normally do get spoilt. August 2016 we had one go over Peterborough that was kicking out in excess of 160 strikes per minute! Unfortunately I was in holiday when it happened!!

I didn't get me, that just missed me and went up leads way. I remember watching it in my back garden. Some good lightening.

Don't know whether it'll come to much but looks like a bit of convection further west in the channel now.

Damn, I wish I could have, I have no line of sight out west due to houses and trees  Wish I had been in the thread earlier now! Would've walked into the park for a better view if I'd known the storm was visible from this distance, it looked very impressive on radar

Trust me I was right in it and it was.
