Some weak convection here now but unlikely to come to anything though. Local forecast still has a yellow warning for sunny intervals for today and tomorrow.

It's looking very good over Retford. Just waiting for it to go bang.

Building up here as well, sort of hazy with slight grey clouds appearing

The haze is blocking my view of the towers I could see previously.

Looks like the showers around Derby/Matlock are just homegrown pulse-cells as the AcCas isn't really building into much after looking at them over the past 30mins, the main destabilization line has yet to form in the Midlands and Norfolk so there's still capping evident around these parts at this moment.

I am going to wait if I get a thunderstorm in warminster in Wiltshire to night and I see clouds growing up really quickly over

The issue is we have no trigger over our area and the atmosphere is capped so hence why the clouds are growing quickly but then dying again. I doubt we'll get anything else

Good news for storm lovers, whereas recent meto radar forecasts have been pretty mundane, the latest look much more promising, two organised bands of rain and perhaps storms. One cluster developing in East Anglia and moving NW.

Another interesting band set to fire up around the M4 imminently, could be another good day?

Now this is more like it. NW England text forecast.

This Evening and Tonight:

Further heavy showers and thunderstorms moving up from the south this evening and overnight. These will gradually ease during the early hours, with perhaps a few isolated ones still around, but generally becoming mostly dry and cloudy. A humid night. Minimum temperature 12 °C.

Just had some heavy rain making the humidity go up even more. I can hear rumbles of thunder as well. Waiting for the main event now lol.

Great stuff! Ironically I think Wrexham also got hit by the same set of storms ?

London was definitely the best place to be though.

I don’t think those storms quite managed to reach Wrexham but I think they’ve had a couple of strikes today nearby. Nothing like what I witnessed last night lol
