This new storm coming up through Kent is interesting me, though it may just be too far SW again

I can see distant lightning activity although I think tonight is gonna be a miss. Someone please prove me wrong!

I took this snapshot of Blitzortung a while back, hoping the distant flashes getting closer means Oxford will get a nice show soon.

I know I said it’s gone now but I might as well post this video as well.

It wasn’t thunder. There’s two late running Easyjet planes circling before landing at Southend, and also a TUI 737 taking a very odd route into Gatwick, presumably because of the storms.

Incredibly intense storm passed through central London, and there seems to be another one heading up from the south now, can see lightning in the distance like I did before the first one got here.

So the original storm that passed over London is now on the other side of me but what a show it was brilliant!

As above eyes on what's coming next...

No mistaking that! Definite rumble. First of 2018!

So Saracens win the Rugby Premiership and we get a night storm. Not bad :)

Edit: Thunder maybe? But where from? That cell in Kent is too far away and there is nothing else close enough. Maybe it wasn’t. But it did sound like it.

The Kent cell is very interesting. On the radar it appears to be taking a more northern direction to me. Is this the case or am I just too drunk? Lol

Just heard some rumbles, it has been flashing much more in the past 1/2 hour, good to hear it too! I missed the last storm a few weeks ago completely, must not fall asleep this time!

A nice storm moved just to the south of me, this one was from London, Looks like Thame & Oxford should get a nice show. The planes have stopped flying over on there way into London Luton which is always a good sign.

Currently, we have rain on and off with some distant lightning to the south and more to the east now.

It's a right mover in that case as winds haven't changed, can't tell my self what it's doing, tired.

There must be a serious amount of energy over the SE, another cell has just exploded into life behind the main one

Think the activity that has moved towards Oxford has now started to move in a more westerly direction so sadly i think Worcester will miss this light show tonight but fingers crossed for later today. Really excited for the possibility of a corker and everyone who was lucky enough to catch the storms in the south east it must be amazing down there tonight.

We were all set to receive that cell here in Gurney, and I could see from the lightning it was approaching ....but looks like it suddenly died at Warminster in the last 10 mins. RIP.
