I'm a little more optimistic about today.  No big deal if we get nothing; as others have said, the weekend into next week looking good and it's early days yet for our decent storms.

Just watching the cloud clearing from the South here, heating up nicely behind it and signs of a line of convection.

Reasonably humid in London at the moment with some signs of instability

Especially in the last 10-15 minutes, a few cells have fired over Reading and look explosive on Sat24.

By the looks of it indeed so, might have to make a drive northwards if these develop further, the NMM currently modelling this area well (although a little more north) only disappointment is no strikes so far!

Just noticed them stretching in a line from High wycombe to west of Reading. Fired up very quickly.  I'm only about 8 miles from one if those cells but not a drop of rain here.

Nothing this end of Hampshire. Just cloudy  with light rain on and off which probably isn’t helping much. Feels humid though which it didn’t earlier.

Talking of France , in some areas it’s recommended that homes install lightening protection systems .

Thankfully not here ! I hate thunderstorms !

I know a lot of members really like them but I always fear that bang and no power!

It's all just sitting around the convergence zone in high wycombe - i don't know how to chase this. Anyone know any viewpoints in the area?

METAR's across the northwest mentioning heavy rain showers but nothing in terms of any hail, lightning, just yet. Granada Reports forecasting things to be starting at around 1am with the first wave passing through until 5am and then the frontal initiated convection moving through past 9am to 2pm.

I'd agree. Tho the cell seems to be losing its intensity now

Felt much more humid this evening, what's on the cards for tonight/tomorrow or is it just messy rain forecast?
