Thunderstorm here in SE London - am on a packed and sweltering train. The last flash and bang made most people on the train jump, lol!!!

edit - Train is at a standstill and we just had another extremely close CG and deafening peel. Awesome

I can see the storm clouds from here but just clear blue skies here. Will be very surprised to see anything.

Constant flashes and thunder here now... funny because it just died for about 5mins and now going mental!!.. oh and hailstones rather large, so be careful if your coming home from work or school,, may get nasty bump on head!

That’s a tiny little cell over SE London, but pretty intense! I would’ve thought I’d be able to see the clouds on that from here, but it’s really hazy.

Had some thunder on the edge of a cell to the east of here not long ago. Really need those cells to move a bit further west.

Well i'm quite content. Plenty of rumbles and 5.2mm of rain in around 15 minutes.

Just had my first storm of the year. For once essex bred it for us instead of the other way around. Had three flashes of sheet lightning and about 10 rumbles. No precip though. HOWEVER...I had just jumped into the bath so couldn't actually SEE the storm through the frosted windows. On checking the radar the storm tracked southwest and when firing up near me it was to my west which explains the lack of precip as it never came directly over me (difficult to see through frosted glass).

Activity's dying off everywhere on radar. Is that our lot?

A great storm just met me as I got off the train. Great watching other storms grow as this one collapses! Also had tonnes of midges in the air just before the rain started

South and west weather forecast

Tuesday:

Plenty of warm sunshine will develop after any early mist and fog clears. However isolated thundery showers are possible for the afternoon, with the risk of hail. Maximum temperature 23 °C.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:

It will stay generally warm, after some early mist clears. Wednesday will be mostly dry and sunny, however the risk of thunderstorms increases later this week. From met office

Well, my newly adopted pessimistic approach to storm forecasts seems to be working, so I'll keep it up in the hope of more storms!
