Developments to my NE now from a view on the SE coast.

As can be seen, the uniform layer of cloud that has been around all day is moving away to leave an area of blue sky.

The convective developments in the clear area.

Kingsclere - I watched an awesome storm from there about 2 years ago

Yes - a good spot is on the B3051, at the top of White hill, just a couple of miles south of Kingsclere. Layby one side of the road and White Hill car park on the opposite side.

Are these showers supposed to be heading SW ?

Yep. The SR charts showed in. They seem to be being  steered by the 700hPa wind.

Nice big convective splats of rain and feeling very humid! And some hail mixed in too.

Dark cloud bases towards the Goyt Valley here in the Peak District and just NE of Manchester is the first signs of rain breaking out on the radar. Netwx-sr has today's thundery showers passing through at around 6pm.

Rumble of thunder heard just now, not sure where it came from as my office window is south facing. Some darker clouds to the SSE but they don't look to be heading here.

A few convective rain drops here just now. Sunny at the moment but dark to the north.

Hedge End area according to Lightning Maps. I just about heard it here but nothing since.

Very loud rumbles here now, though the main cell is going to pass just to the south of here, probably towards Calshot area. Wind is picking up.
