Weather Guilt-Tripping - Please don't suggest people are selfish for enjoying or even looking forward to a certain weather type. Everyone has different weather preferences, but since none of us can control the weather, no-one should be made to feel guilty or foolish for liking it.

Well, if you are going to live at 8,000 meters.

Another really nice start to a Summers weekend, could get used to this, bit of broken cloud, lovely breeze 13c,very nice indeed! So much more refreshing waking up without that racket at 4am from the wildlife and actual waking as the day wakes, feels so much more natural i find.

Yes, the sound of wildlife in the morning is very unnatural. I prefer the heavy hum of the distant motorway myself.

At 4am waking you up,natures alarm clock is a pain! Waking up as nature wakes is far far better i find.

Yes, could be a lot worse. Rather cloudy, but dry with nice breeze here. Certainly not prohibitive for getting out and about and doing stuff, in my opinion.

It's been a nice morning here.

I would class this morning as near perfect Summer weather, maybe lose a little bit of cloud but with that fresh breeze it still would be very comfortable. Long may it continue Very usable and enjoyable. Plenty of sun,but not to much.

overcast, breezy, muggy, here .... at least its not raining, but hardly 'enjoyable'.  heres hoping the cloud breaks up later.

whilst its pretty likely that we will not get another hot spell this summer there is hope of something pleasant into september. the models are hinting at pressure rise later next week (bank holiday week) and ridging could well follow on after the northwesterly plunge..

Rubbish. At Stafford's nearest weather station (Penkridge), August is sunnier on average than June, with nearly the same rainfall - and is obviously warmer.

People on this forum seem to think they can say whatever they want without realising that actual long-term climatic averages exist..

Yes, strong breeze here at the moment and overcast, but forecast to get to 23C and be rather humid so hope we retain the breeze through the afternoon to keep it comfortable.

This is one for mushy - I saw two swift-like birds today but I couldn't get a good look at them. More likely to be martins or swallows?

Yes, I have noticed that. Twaddle posted as fact.

And when corrected, they keep repeating the same twaddle.

So either they are trolling or they are two dimensional beings trapped in a three dimensional universe.

Another dull day here. Not had a properly sunny or even mostly sunny day for over 2 weeks. Can we just cancel Augusts altogether? Maybe extend July to 62 days and hope we fool the weather gods?

Yes I agree. It’s been an incredibly dull month here. Almost completely devoid of any real warmth (aside from the first couple of days) and has been extremely cloudy and drizzly.

Feels like Summer’s really gone out on a whimper. A complete contrast to what we had in May, June and much of July. Seems like a distant memory.

I don’t expect heatwave conditions. Just to occasionally see the sun for longer than 5 minutes and for it to feel a little warm.

August is such a crap month since 2003
