Lets go with 12.3 degrees, above average but not excessively so. Expecting quite a bit of dry weather - some early warmth thanks to azores high anchoring itself over the Uk, possibly very warm for a short time, then it will retreat westwards and become a mid atlantic high, a cooler showery second half, though not especially wet, near average temps, some chilly night possible.

A decent May overall, great growing conditions, and good for getting out and about, but not a classic May in terms of sustained warm dry weather.

I absolutely love May, it is my favourite month.. always look forward to it, and with the promise of summer around the corner, its a month full of optimism and new life. Mother nature springs into life, hive of activity everywhere and the countryside turns green. Wonderful time of year!
