From my own perspective I'm going to have a bad day...

Don't suppose any of you know the odds of Gravesend getting a thunderstorm and how badly do you?

The rain coming up from the south looks quite heavy but at this stage nothing too severe , lots of time for his to change , feels very muggy this morning .

Far SE Kent is missing out again as has been the case all week to be honest.

Hopefully a French import later on for Dover.

I agree totally, when you look at the radar the cloud base seems to split in two and go either side of east kent ?? what causes this.

Not sure. Seems to have happened a lot this week. Have said that the band is moving north and in the last 10 minutes the temperature has really started to jump. Introducing warmer air?

Feeling very humid and fairly warm, the sun is desperately trying to burn through the murk here, allowing a few brief but very warm sunny spells. Cloudier again just now. Can’t see much kicking off with regards to thunderstorms if this muck doesn’t clear.

You wouldn't want the current rain anyway nothing at all interesting about it and will inhibit further developments.

It's in the updated text of the yellow warning (updated 10 mins ago) - "This warning has been extended into Friday morning, with a separate Amber warning issued to cover the area most likely to see more widespread impacts."

Amber now released and it is for Central/Southern England. Just out of our area.

Looks like we'll miss the worst of it, thankfully - looks like a rough day in store for CSE and further West. Expecting it to pick up early afternoon onwards.

Upto 19.9 c now but the sun's trying to push through, humidity doesn't feel as bad as it was earlier - with a bit less cloud it could be very a pleasant day!

It looks slightly too far south. I need a development over France I think.

I'm a newb to all this, so don't expect anything I say to be correct. 😉

I've just been following this batch all night shit-scared that it's gonna hit me, but it's been heading your way rapidly for the past hr or so.
