can see a large anvil looming on the horizon but not seen any lightning from it. Doesn't have the same oomph that it did earlier when it crossed the channel.

Had a brief shower about an hour ago, the SW seems to be having a bit of a party judging by the comments. I think we may get some rain later but thunder? Hmmm wait and see as always, these days everything travels SW - NE and ends up over Yorkshire, N Lincs etc or can't get over the channel, or gives up just west of the A1. Tsk.

Lots of lightening flashes visible to the south west of Peterborough from storm's which must be at least 80 miles away

There's an active cluster just north of Oxford, that must be what you're seeing?

Must be a great show if you're on the sea front near Portsmouth, almost constant lightning on the webcam!

Jaynemc I drove through that cell down the A3, at one point visibility was no more than 25m, very dangerous driving condition in the core of that cell. Almost constant lighting, spotted some great cc lightning on the way in.

It just had to happen! @lassie23 you get despondent and expect nothing whilst I keep my hopes up, I have nothing at all heading my way whilst you will get some action

Thunder and lightning has arrived in Surbiton, serious flashes lighting up the sky followed closely by some loud rolls of thunder and now torrential rain. Sounding biblical out there, for now anyway. Had to run around the house closing all the windows after rather a sultry day today.
