Back last night from 4 days away visiting relatives in the Czech Republic. Beautiful weather there, sunny and 24C. Absolutely vile here, had to put the heating on this morning. A high of 6C tomorrow, apparently. My Czech relatives just laughed and asked why we live here lol. Good question!

Are you part Czech yourself SB?

My cousin married a Czech girl and they are living in North Italy, funny because Czech in Italian is Cecca, but Cieca means blind and they are pronounced the same. So when he talks about his wife being Cieca to people they always jump to the conclusion that she is blind. What he should say is that his wife is from Republica Cecca, quite funny the way he winds them up then says no, no, shes from Czech Republic and its like awwwww, right, cool.

Although being blind is no laughing matter of course.

Yes very true, but brexit will not mean we shove people out, I think a lot are going to go on thier own because of tensions rising within a certain minority of English people.. Sad really we all need to get along and grow our economy!

Anyway back to the weather, going tv draw up a risk map later of where I think the heaviest rain will be and totals. Hirlam would require us to build an ark, although if we haven't started yet it might be a bit to late..

I agree, it is very sad. All the lies and distortions of the truth that have been whipped up by much of our media has unfortunately led us down this path.

Hopefully tomorrow won’t be as bad as some models are suggesting. The ground here is sodden, would cause a lot of issues.

I think you need really ripe juicy organic melons for them to grow. All the supermarket melons are not ripe, hard as nails, and completely inedible. They are probably GM melons that don't reproduce anyway.:bad:

Yes, my parents are Czech but I was born and raised here. I do love the UK, it’s always been home. But the weather is something I’ve struggled with for years!

Miserable is the only word to describe tomorrow - the only upside is that it looks like it will be the low part of the week weatherwise:

Bet you got a right menagerie up them Harrow Hills Lass, termites, goats, lobsters, hooves, three legged cats. I would agree that you have much more chance of a covering of brown poop up there on them there hills than anything white.

If only this 100mm precipitation had arrived when we had 2m temps of -5C!

I used to work with a lady whom we used to call the 'Bouncing Czech' way back around 1977...some folks believed (myself included) that her name to be Helena, while others thought it was Pelena.

Aren't Brits just world-class when it come to foreign languages!
