Had to drive in it! Was quite sudden and very intense. Bit of a shock but I quite like heavy rain like that

Yes came out of nowhere hope not too many crazy drivers out !! Sometimes it’s just nice to stay in - I love being at home in the Cobham bubble .....

Unfortunately I was just 'popping' to the car in Hayes Rugby Club car park when the deluge hit - I was rather bedraggled, wet and cold to put it mildly upon my return mere minutes later to my son's judo class! As for drivers, what a joy they were this evening....

Husband's Aussie relatives are landing Friday and visiting Saturday, we are so hoping the wind and rain stays more to the west than this side of the country to take them along the river to Kingston; s*d's law will no doubt intervene.

I'd say you ll be OK for Saturday, quite warm too by looks of it though may be a wet evening.

Thanks for that, warm sounds good; a wet evening I can live with, especially if I can hear the rain during the night and drift off to sleep

Even next week's 16/17C temps would be considered 'warm' in any normal October...:D

It was sunny a few minutes ago and now it is has clouded over.  It is getting quite windy now with 16 miles per hour and gusts of 30 miles per hour.  It is expected to get windier later on.

Very windy here, but warm. A few breaks in the cloud and currently 19C. Hopefully the rain will hold off tomorrow until late, am getting married and would like a dry day for photo’s!

Very windy now seems to have increased, but very warm, we missed most of the rain earlier in Peterborough petered out just to the west but what did fall left lots of dust I wonder where that originated from

It’s so warm out there !! I know it’s a different situation but it feels so like the evening before the great storm in ‘87 !!

Looks to me like some sahran sand, given we are sourcing or have been sourcing winds from Africa its pretty likely it made its way over to us.

Pretty common when we get summer plumes and lows that stay out west like Callum draw up the air from that region (usually)

I'm glad we have been left in our corner of the world avoiding most of the bad weather, looks okay ish tomorrow but Sunday now throws a curve ball with models trying to work out where some torrential rain moving north from France will end up.

Some going just a Kent klipper some going for the whole region...

@stainesbloke wishing you the very best for the big day!

I was in Windsor today so saw the royal wedding procession - it was very windy and very mild, pleasant for being outdoors but my hat took off and was gone and because of the wedding the streets were crowded, it was a complete farce trying to get it back!

Even now temp outside is reading 19.4.c  - incredible. The winter duvet I put on a few weeks ago is going to be very uncomfortable tonight!
