Is this embedded convection in the rain expected today?

I am not sure if Thurrock will get any rain and if so will it be light rain or moderate rain fall.  Thurrock does not have a Met Office weather station as the nearest is at Gravesend.

That took me by surprise. Freezing walking the dogs this morning.

Autumn is coming...

Grey, cold & wet today in time for my day off..

Dry & settled weather back all next week, so only a blip at least.

A cold and wet day here, the rain has set in and it looks like we’ll get a good few hours of it, looking at the radar. Just 9C in a northerly wind. Definitely feels like autumn.

Grim day, looks like rain might stall/pivot around West london and South London as the low to the south in the channel/France slightly deepens, wouldn't want to be getting on a ferry later some quite strong winds in the channel and coasts this afternoon 3pm-9pm look like the windiest time

The rain has finally come as I thought it would not come.  I arrived two hours early but I am glad it came as it means that I don't have to water the plants in my back garden.

Had a sofa day today after dog walking, perfect day for it.

Firing up the log fire for the first time since March.

Back to decent temps, dry and sunny spells next week which is good, any delay in the relentless autumn rain is welcome here.

There has been 5 hours of medium to heavy rainfall in Thurrock and it rained longer than forecasted. The temperature now at 18:00 is 9 °C.

, good move lighting the fire.  I fired my log burned up the other week as it got cold, then roasted at 23 degrees!

Haha, so true.

Fire burning away, in the next few days = windows open.

Only in the U.K.

Been up in the NW for last couple of months and long sleeves had crept out again, although frequent rain and sunshine has returned the grass back to lush fresh green with autumnal colours bursting out all over the place. Returned down to the SE on Thursday night and it's still warm with dead brown grass down here! Even though cooler today I'm still in short sleeves with windows open at 9.30pm

Misty dank morning and 5.2mm of rainfall recorded today, we still need more to retain some balance but I won't grumble at blue skies and sunshine when/if they return but can we please not have plume humidity, it's quite useless and not needed for thunder and lightning.

Good Morning everyone.

It is certainly a much better day than yesterday's rainfest.

We went to Silverstone to watch some motor racing. We watched from the British Racing Club Stand, but boy was it cold and unpleasant.it was more like December than early October. 8C was the best on offer there with a strong rain soaked wind.

Kind Regards

Dave

A lovely sunny morning with a temperature of 7 °C.  The sky is blue and has a scattering of stratocumulus clouds. Northerly winds 8 miles per hour with gusts of 18 miles per hour.

Oops! I meant as late as October. Back in the Good-old-Days, the first frost often occurred in September...:fool::oops:
