The rain and accompanying strong winds are still some way off although it has been quite breezy here today, gusting up to 30mph for a few hours. Tmax of 20.6c locally.

I have a hospital appointment in Sidcup early tomorrow morning and have to set off 6.00-6.30am so not particularly looking forward to the drive given the overnight forecast for this area. The A21 from Hastings as far as Pembury can be a pig of a road at the best of times.

This is the least windy day here, since the storms started, it's so calm out. Leaves are barely moving if at all.

To be honest I don't like it, feels rather Erie, can't put my finger on why. Could be the speed of the Scud moving east with no wind may be.

Its rare with these storms that the strongest winds arrives with the rain, most of the time strong winds usually follow the rain.

Winds look to peak in the small hours for us in SE so some way off, you should see gusts over 60mph.

Thanks Tom, It is indeed QM  although it's a seperate department where I'm taking part in a study to test new COPD medication. If the weather or road conditions are that bad in the morning I won't risk the drive, I can always re-schedule for sometime next week. No point in taking chances.

Best wishes to you and yours Tom.

Does anyone actually know if there will be thunderstorms tonight through to the early morning? I've checked loads of forecasts and this is the only one which says that there is likely to be some lightning

Sometime squall lines, lime the one coming through tonight electrify, it's difficult to know in advance whether they will or not. The chance is there.

Yep here too, I did think that earlier though, and then everything died.

Once again, a very warm evening - currently still 19.2 degrees outside. Wonder what sort of temperature drop we will see once the squall line has cleared through?

Winds are nicely picking up here now and its so lovely and mild that I have the back door open and I just love that sound of the wind in the trees. I'm looking forward to Storm Bronagh !

It's certainly still mild here, currently 19.4c. Wind gusting around 30mph, much as it has been for the last 2 or 3 days. May get windier in the next few hours though.

It's finally almost blowing a holie here, give it another couple of hours we might teach the 40s, the speed this seems to be ramping up.

Starting to hear the usually familiar whistle and rumbling from outside now.

It's started here now, in fact it's gone from almost nothing to around 50mph gusts in the last half hour. Think it's gonna be a wild night.

Winds really picking up now. Some quite impressive gusts. I fear for our fence! Still not a spot of rain and very mild 18deg.

Winds have suddenly picked up again some nice gusts. Who knows what waits for us when the cold front comes though

Just had a large damaging gust come through, always amplified where I live which doesn't help.

Neighbours trampoline has moved 20 yards closer to their house. Squall line incoming could be really bad news. Have to stay up to now to make sure all is good. Wind howling and trees making lots of noise.
