I think you guys just need to accept that other people like other weather types that might not be your own preference. No need to jump on people when ever they mention wind, rain or cloud. Let’s not turn this into the MAD thread. I for one would like to see a bit of stormy wet weather and I work outside all the time, now’t wrong with that.

and i would like to see some snow in november, to brighten one of the most depressing months of the year

It’s really no drama, I get that people are different and like various weather types. The SE room has always been friendly, good fun with a ton of nice people and plenty of banter/jokes, hope that will continue. I’ll never understand people calling this gorgeous weather boring, though

Beautiful morning.

Feeling really warm already, neighbours just announced a bbq for later this afternoon.

Looking forward to some chill time this afternoon with a few Gins in the sunshine, before another gruelling week at work beckons.

Have a good Sunday everyone

Outside this morning and lovely to feel the sun on my skin. I'm definitely not made for winter.

Is there a reason why most of our beasterlies nowadays tend to happen between feb-late march?

February was often the coldest and snowiest month, when I was growing up, not sure why?

Unfortunately all clubs games called off this weekend due to the hot summer and painful lack of rain. Could really do with some decent rainfall now this month to even things up.

I hope these stats for Summer 2018 from my nearest official weather station (  approx 9 miles as the crow flies )  may be of interest.  On reflection I could have posted them in an easier to read way and might try that at a later stage but just putting the stats out there for now.

They do at least confirm that overall the Summer of 2018 was a very decent one here, but once again August was a bit of a let down. We needed the rain, but perhaps not quite so much in the peak of the holiday season.

Is there something direct from the north before that.

Yes, before then the east is not cold yet. That has to work down from the north. In eastern Europe, before we can get a cold easterly draw. First part of winter it is colder from the north. Not much good for us down here though.

August definitely the poorest of a stunning summer.

Enough rain here to balance everything out and give muddy dog walks again.

Yellow brown landscape to lush green August delivered to us.

It has been the second morning where there has been light dew on the grass.  It is a rare sight to see dew in Essex.  Mornings have been lovely and fresh with a cool feel to it.  A lovely sunny morning with a scattering cirrus clouds.  The temperature at 08:40 is  15.9 °C . There is a light breeze with winds at 3mph which is coming from a N.N.W. direction.

Something to do with the slackening of the jet stream , allowing incursions from the continent

Looks pretty barren that. Should recover though.

Latest forecasts looking good for much cooler weather and perhaps a good spill of rain by end of the week and into weekend.

Let’s hope so, the real stuff starts this weekend. Perfect weather today, pleasant in the low twenties and blue skies. If only all of summer could have been like this instead of the extreme heat.

I was hoping for another month of this weather for a late growth spurt in my melons but they look doomed now, shrivel time
