Up in Harrogate North Yorkshire today - can assure you the freshening is a coming - just 9c at the moment clear but quite breezy you need a coat to go out ...

August sun strength should still get up into the low 20s across the south east this afternoon.

Fresher yes but it’s hardly as if it’s been oppressive preceding anyway.

Rain stopped here - hurray!!

Fair enough I think it will struggle to 17c up north ... I thought the preceding days down south had actually been fairly humid !

Narrow squall line blasting through here in south London, made the cat run in from outside, shame no thunder.

I guess it all depends on the person. I actually thought it was comfortable whilst others thought it was humid.

Spending a lot of time in Almeria Spain throughout the year, temps of 24c -26c will never feel humid in this country to me, whilst others complain that it’s stiffling - lol

The rain cleared here just after breakfast. Not too bad with quite a bit of sunshine. It does feel quite chilly though at just 18c.

Only have light almost non existent rain here, you can feel it but no evidence on the ground or cars etc.

I'm tempted to say no rain in Eastbourne today but it did drizzle for about 2mins. The sun has been out for a while now and it feels quite warm despite the breeze. Top temp 21.1c. Current temp is 20.1

I believe so. Do you think it is a real or false radar return?

I've no idea, I expect according to the gfs conditions for snow were present. But whether it happened or not, only people who were there will know. I don't think snow in autumn on Nevis is all that rare though. Or it never used to be at any rate.

After the humid last few days, this morning we have clear blue skies and sunshine with a nice cool breeze. 11c at 6am for dog walk, now 13c.  Now this is my kind of weather  Patio doors and windows open with some lovely fresh air

First chilly evening up the allotment yesterday evening, sat there with several gardeners and the odd robin discussing when it's no longer feasable to work on the allotment after work, the general consensus is that time is 4 weeks today. Makes me sad! I'm usually the first one to look forward to those hazy autumn days but this year I'm, dreading the dark evenings. I don't watch TV dramas and going into town is horrible these days so I don't have anything to do on dark evenings...apart from annoy the boyfriend when he's trying to play Elite Dangerous

The lengthy heatwave has meant that for those who planted pumpkins at the earliest opportunity are seeing them ripen now. I don't quite know where I'm going to store 8 pumpkins for 8 weeks..especially as I don't know where I'll be living in 8 weeks!

The other thing I have noticed is the size of the acorns this year - like acorns on steroids, I'll photograph them tomorrow.

No. Ben Nevis is next to Fort William.  Could be Cairngorm Mountain or maybe Britain's second highest mountain Ben Macdui.  Having been up Ben Nevis in quite a lot of lying snow in June a few years back it's true to say that snow can fall on any day of the year although it's obviously rare in high summer.

What a better feeling day, after what seems like an eternity spent seating buckets!

It got very dark here, wind really got up, very blustery. then the heavens opened up, heavy heavy rain, with small hail. One very loud crack of thunder, but no lightning.
