Better in the last half hour near Brighton

Occasional fork lightning ( just had one that arked across the sky above) with shot gun thunder. Most lightning over the sea.

Every 3 or 4 minutes

Distant flash in Braintree, a few spots of rain...barely enough to dampen the ground. No thunder

Apart from half an hour or so of steady rain, the Surrey Hills have missed again....

Looking at the models tonight , it looks like we might not have seen the last of the heat after all ,  they will probably show below average temperatures for tomorrow though .

Lots of heavy rain, and a few distant flashes of lightning, but still so humid.

mudt admit it’s nice laying in bed hearing the rain hitting the window. Just need it to cool off now.

Still rumbling around and the occasional flash too. Have had some pretty heavy rain for the last half hour too. (That's the garden flatterned then!) Much needed though as there doesn't look to be much substantial rain in the next week or so (bar Thursday) I've almost forgotten what grass should feel like as all the grass round here is of the crunchy yellow variety!

I just spent 10 minutes dancing in the garden in my undies in the 'rain'.

The over head airplanes adding that little bit extra.

next door shut their patio doors.

Haha was that why the overhead planes seemed to bank in an unusual way this evening?  How much rain did you get you lucky lady yet so close to me here in Drysville. Not a spot just horribly humid.

So glad to see the models have swung back around no rain for our region on Saturday, I’m getting married in the afternoon outside so have been watching each run behind the sofa like it’s winter all over again!

Heavy shower just started here now

Congratulations Lewis, hope your special day with outside ceremony is memorable for all the right reasons - best wishes for Saturday’s weather

Although we still had to have a fan on in our "sauna" of a bedroom last night, woke up with cold legs and had to resort to putting long, pyjama bottoms on, rather than shorts, to come downstairs and take BP medication. Bloody marvellous :yahoo:, havn't had to do that in weeks!! Still feels humid and clammy in lounge though, so have put fan on.

So thundery breakdown, ended up being a mainly east of meridian event but mainly just for the south of the region. Thought EURO4 performed best of the models, in that regard.

Tom. :hi:

Don’t think we even got a drop of rain. However, breeze this morning is most welcome.

Was a moderate shower for about 5mins, nice fat drops but that was it. Cleared up after.

Have to also give some praise to METEO GROUP via the BBC. Their graphics looked pretty spot on, through the day, yesterday. Line of thundery showers, stretching up from the south cosat  NNE, just to the east of London.

Had I not had the fans on in the lounge, late evening, would no doubt have also heard the rumbles of thunder, here in Lee, that Leeanne (Snow Raven), reported hearing from Bexleyheath.

Meteociel Dew Point maps, tell the tale, lovely greens flooding into our area, bliss!! Ahh, breathe:clapping:

Last night all I heard was a short burst of rumbling thunder which was not very loud.  My upstairs neighbour is nosier when she is moving furniture or throwing furniture around in her flat. So last night was a very big let down as a lot was promised and no thunderstorms were delivered.  At least last time, there were a two or three flashes of lightning, which came 12 hours late (better late than never) and good amount of rain and thunder.

Pretty tame affair last night here on the Essex Riviera, some rumbles of thunder and a total of 1mm of rain which all in all is pretty pathetic.
