When I woke up at 6am it was raining heavily, this is third time it has rained in over a week.

Lovely little morning storm to wake up to. Few loud rumbles and lovely rain sounds.

I don’t know if it’s just me but it feels very humid this morning after the rain and rumbles!

Be careful out there on the roads, people. Seen 2 very nasty looking accidents this morning with flipped cars. Lots of standing water and spray. Slow down and be aware. It's just not worth it.

Woken up by the heavy rain then not long after came a vivid flash and almighty building shaking bang of thunder, I forgive you Mother Nature for waking me up so early.

A bit of an earlier wake-up call for us on the western side of London with the real building shaker waking me up at 5am, preceded by heavy rain and followed by some more rumbles with lightning and more rain. In common with others, I had noticed a bit of a popcorn sky yesterday evening but had been foolish enough not to check in on the NW forums, so didn't think anything was on its way. The chaps doing our garden patio appear undeterred and are out there grouting yesterday's paving stones.

Think I slept through this, unless it missed the SE corner, wouldn't be the first time for either outcome.

Now that the rain has gone, it's as if everything is in HD.

Exactly what I was saying earlier to my, somewhat nervous, passenger while driving and gazing around in wonder Ed!

Heavy rain around 6am, although it didn’t last long. Sunny with a few fair weather clouds against incredibly intense blue sky. The countryside looking amazing, trees greener etc. A stunningly beautiful crisp day, if somewhat windy atm.

Currently 19C with expected max of 25

Wind: WSW 10, gusting 17

Pressure 1016. Humidity 65% Visibility excellent :)

It doesn’t feel warm when sun is obscured, we look set to see return of very hot weather. Oh joy.

Strange ! We’ll have to wait for further confirmation later.

@nick sussex - I've had confirmation from Norfolk Gliding Club that it is a private station - the Met Office won't allow them to use the data from their official station.
