Nice thunderstorm just south of Norwich but not much rain, enough to wet the ground but still dry patches about. Moved away north now. Wonder if we'll get any more, if not we're stuffed on the drought and the dead grass will continue.

UEA weather station has had 2 inches, and there's more to come - indeed, there's now been a couple of lightning strikes to our south.

Hardly any rain here.drought continues

I'm sorry to hear that.  We haven't had as much as we really could have done with, but we've had enough to improve the situation somewhat.

Unplugged all my electrical stuff of value and been laid flat out on my conservatory sofa watching the show for the past 3 hours. Fantastic stuff.

Some of that may affect us around midnight, I suspect.

First thunder/lightning here just after 4pm AND still going, that's six hours and torrential rain on and off.  Lots of local flooding.  Blimey  - what a storm (supercell I think)

AFAIK it was indeed a supercell - most unusual.

That was fun

Way too much rain for photos but got some video - managed to lock myself in the back of the van whilst taking shelter. Talk about a French farce... No need to clean the cars now, barns flooded, workshop flooded, conservatory flooded....

A little bit of light rain here. Barely enough to dampen the ground in Arid Acle!

Surprised my camera still works, it was virtually dunked in a bath this evening. Note to self, must get a lends hood...

Less than 20 shots once the monsoon conditions eased, sorry about the water on the lens!

Had a decent 10min downpour earlier but no storm, all was to my East, seems like much of it was wasted in the North Sea

When you look at the Netweather radar its so frustrating when you see all that precipitation flirting all the way down the East Coasts

Huge claps of thunder and lightning this morning as the weather fronts associated with the low out west cross the country...

Make use of any rain we do get over the next 48 hours as it looks like hotting up again later next week gfs keen on getting the warm air back

Yesterday was great for storms here we were in the sweet spot this side of London i think (west) picking up 3 storms in the afternoon one after the next okay no way as severe as the ones out east

Can't rule out the odd rumble with any showers that you catch today

Tomorrow now looks wet.. Some welcome rain for all
