No.  If the aerial is hit it's better to allow it to blow the TV than have voltage arcing from the wall socket.

Electricians say pull all appliances otherwise will be expensive replacements. Also get a spike for your pc will automatically switch off if there is a surge

I've been repeatedly asking the senior people on the Convective thread but have had no response so far.  I suspect you're correct, though.  As usual, nowhere seems to exist east of Cambridge as far as Netweather's concerned.

Mind you the Met has finally located Norfolk and Suffolk, so a bit of a bonus there. I always suspected it would benefit the west of the region rather than the east as seems to be the case these days.

Poor us east of Cambs. Absolutely nothing so far. And now it's considerably cooler. Can't believe we may have to wait for the autumnal weather on Sunday for a bit of drizzle...

It’s cooler there now? Still baking here, sun still shining, with little cloud. Blow the cooler air this way please ?️

I can just about see some towering clouds to my south. Nothing on the radar, but hopefully something may be starting for us eastern folk.

Surprisingly cooler. Although sun is now behind some stupid anvil from elsewhere the air is definitely fresher despite no rain.

I think it's the anvil from the storm currently over Cambridge/Newmarket.

Incredible crash of shotgun thunder here, about 15 minutes, ago.

So...I can finally see some towering cumulonimbus to my south, and the radar is showing showers breaking out in the Thames Estuary. Could this finally be something on track for east Suffolk/Norfolk?

I could see them, away towards the WNW, when I went to Tesco...

Hoping we get something in Kent.  I left work in Maidstone at 5 and there was a noticeable breeze and dark clouds. Arrived back in Ashford to no cloud and 32c, though he has clouded over a bit now.

It rained for about 5 minutes in the end with some big gusts of wind ahead of it which created some small dust storms. A lot cooler and fresher with temperatures back in the low twenties but the sun is out again so a nice evening ahead.

Epic drive to Croydon just now. Vary dark, 30 mins  torrential rain and amazing lightning. At least it cleaned the car.

Calm now here but sooooo much cooler. 18c according to the car!

Looking south again
