UEA weather station temperature dropping - down to 32.6C and it feels slightly less hot here.

Think I have just heard a distant rumble in Bexleyheath?

Had about four rumbles, here in Lee now, Leeanne.

Tom.

Yep, definitely thunder 3 rumbles now and the last one was quite loud.

It's also whipped up a nice breeze. Lovely!

I'm not expecting anything at all over here...unless the main front produces something. We might even get a better chance of seeing some thundery showers, tomorrow afternoon?

I'm trying to get Mr. Sherman on the Convective thread to notice my queries on this - I suspect we're under a stronger cap than the rest of the region.

We have rain and thunder :yahoo:  Rain started 10 minutes. Heavy enough for my young lab to be scared to go out!  Several loud rumbles of thunder.

Oh. That dratted sun is back out. And the rain has stopped. I feel like crying now.

Yes,its all rather 'constipated'

5 mins of rain though so better than nought.

Raining on and off here, still very warm and humid. Hoping to see something much more exciting, storm wise.

Well that was a nice 10 minutes of heavyish rain to stand in

Loud thunder and some more just to the south. It might be it, bit it feels really good

Nice rash of storms getting going again out in the Channel and moving north..

Edit: watch the space North of it to and see if anything pops up there

Finally seeing signs of convection here in East Kent.

Although the sun is still very much on at the moment and combined with the humid plume it's feeling distinctly African here right now! Lots of surface heating, can't wait much longer!

Looking at the radar, there's some building up in France at the moment which might hit us in Medway a bit later.

Hopefully!

A bit underwhelmed now we are back in Surbiton. Left Bournemouth at 2pm with the radar exploding ahead of us, but we were mostly just on the periphery of the heavy stuff with some patches of steady rain, although there was one cc lightning over Guildford. A few miles down the A3 as we approached Surbiton the roads became bone dry and it seems no rain has fallen here; a couple of rolls of thunder greeted us and nothing more. 27 degrees on car temp, which is 10 degrees less than when we left Surbiton yesterday afternoon, so the cloud is cooling things down at least, if not removing the humidity. Fingers crossed for more later.

Same here.  We should get something later as the cold front moves through.
