That site in Norfolk,  Tibenham which the Met Office had been referring to has recorded 37.8 c .

That would be a record for July if it’s officially confirmed .

If you search Norfolk Gliding Club weather all the official data is on there.

The WoW site has an option to uncheck WoW observations and leave the official showing.

I know, but that doesn't show Tibenham.  Here's the list: https://www.metoffice.gov.uk/public/weather/climate-network/#?tab=climateNetwork

The chance of precipitation has increased from 30% to 89% by 9pm and that there will be thunder and lightning by 7pm.

The heat and humidity is given me a mild headache which is on of the signs that there will be a thunder storm. I always getting a headache before a thunder storm.

I'm trying to work out if the station on the Gliding Club site is the official Met Office automatic station - thoughts?  Cheers.

I think it is because the earlier Met Office tweets were showing the same temps .

Ah, I see. There's plenty like that - has been for years. Swanage isn't on any maps, even though there's an official MO station there.

Can't be - the club's site showed 37.7C earlier, whereas Met Office Twitter is going for 34.7C.

Hopefully some bigger storms to come, was nice to see some lightning but am rather underwhelmed so far, after so much heat. That storm over N Norfolk looks much more like it

2 minute proper downpour in Reigate just now.  Amazing smell of wet ground after so long baked dry.  Now raining very softly, but increasing as I write this, and there's the occasional distant rumble.

Yep, definitely thunder 3 rumbles now and the last one was quite loud.

It's also whipped up a nice breeze. Lovely!
