A small line of thunderstorms have sparked off just to the east of me across the far east of Greater London

That cell north of Thetford is exploding! I'm watching it grow from here. So well defined against a blue sky.

Reached 36.9 at a met office wow station but may not be official in norwich

There's no Met Office station there, so it won't be official.  My suspicion for highest temperature would be Wattisham or Santon Downham.

Lightening radar showing strikes going off west of Norwich, too far north damnit, clouds slowly building now.

Can see two cumulonimbus producing that storm from here, clearly against a slightly hazy sky - one fully-developed, the other one yet to level-out against the tropopause.

Lightning maps showng plenty of strikes around Dereham and Swaffham, towards RAF Marham and down into the Brecks near Thetford.  I think there are actually two cells - visually and on radar.  My view from here reminds me of documentaries from Tornado Alley - heat, humidity and towering Cb anvils against a hazy blue sky.

Ooh, rapid darkening of skies to the S here, heard some rumbles of thunder and just seen a flash of lightning.

Maybe stations now beaten record. Hope one of them is official

You can see which are official by filtering the search on the WOW page.  Click "Filters" then de-select everything except "Official Observations"

If I do that the only 'official' sites for the whole of Kent are on the coast, none at all inland. Stupid coverage.
