Got my 16 year old down with heat stroke, now, and she's not even been out in the sun. She has been in all day. Got her lying down with a drink monitoring her, incase she gets worse. She's borderline anorexic, and will only drink juice, never water on it's own. That's probably why she's feeling a bit off. Really need a cooler day tomorrow.

Don't really know what else to do, the house is so hot, and still got the sun heating it.

Keep an eye on her; if in doubt, you could try 111.

Heat stroke is horrible...

Although the only time I ever had it was after the 1976 May bank holiday, I know how easy it is to get; too much sun and not enough water...?

Thanks, that's what I'm doing.  Think she's ok, has a head ache, but hasn't thrown up again yet.

Maybe try some cool damp towels if she feels hot.

So what’s happening tomorrow? I’ve seen so much conflicting info!

I'm not sure anyone is sure.  Supposedly, after overnight storms in the west of the region clear, it'll be sunny and hotter than today (possibly 37-38C), with storms from late afternoon spreading east through the evening.

Yeah I've been feeling a bit ill myself to be honest. Kind of used to it now, not been right since June. Mostly fategue driven though.

But the Beeb aren’t buying the high temps tomorrow. They can’t be that rubbish, surely? Oh hang on . . .

Thomas shaveanacker  going for a max of 29c in London, seems a bit low?

The  Met STILL haven't backed down on the super high temperatures on their latest video forecast which has just been updated.

Yep and the Beeb still showing 29c tomorrow in London, compared to the Met Office’s 37c. Quite a difference!

It obviously depends on how any thunderstorms develop. My guess he max will probably be somewhere in between, so maybe 32c/33c in London with perhaps 36/37c out towards E Anglia if the showers hold off.

They had 28c and thunderstorms for most of the afternoon. The reality was 32C and mostly sunny except for a light 2 minute shower. So yes they are terrible.

Only 8-9C!  TBQH, the MeteoGroup forecasts on the BBC are laughable.

If I were him, I’d do a Phil Avery and quit. They clearly have no input into the forecasts. To not even give more details by saying temps could be somewhere between two values, depending on storms?
