The showers that the met Office were forecasting ( via their app) are just not appearing and nothing much seems to be happening on satellite... I think these showers were supposed to keep the lid on temps this afternoon so could be interesting

I'd take some of these WOW readings with a pinch of salt. Many of them aren't official weather stations.

Still extensive cloud cover here.

EA, Suffolk, essex & Kent place to be today for highest temps.

I notice BBC only has London at 29c for tomorrow now.

This is due to the continued cloud cover expected I presume.

Again, Areas east/north east  of London and prime for highest temps tomorrow.

I know  - however, WOW Ashford station currently at 33.8, personal stations listed on WUnderground all between 33 and 36. They can't all be wrong.

Car is showing 34.5 sitting in the shade.

Temp dropping here on the Essex Riviera thanks to a slight on shore breeze - now 28.5c

Today might end up hotter than tomorrow , there’s a difference of opinion between the GFS 06 hrs and the Euro 4 in terms of 850 values .

The former sends an area of 18 c 850 north to the east of London tomorrow , the latter less bullish .

I think for tomorrow the highest temps likely east of London and towards inland parts of Norfolk and Suffolk.

Unless there’s a change in tonight’s models then I think it’s unlikely we’ll see any records broken for July.

Does anyone know where people like accuweather and The Weather Channel get their live temperatures from? The ones that show you your temperature on your phone based on GPS location. Is it predicted temp, or do they have their own weather stations or use anyone elses?

It's humid but quite nice here... "only" 25 degrees and has been that way for several hours!

Quite extraordinary. Met Office STILL going for 37C for london tomorrow on their latest video forecast (updated 30 minutes ago), while BBC calls it 29C.

BBC has already underrestimated my temperature by 2C and we sill have 2 hours of warming left. I would trust the Met.

Top temp I suppose depends on if you catch a thunderstorm or two - or none. Netweather forecast thinks it will be a high of 26C because it will be cloudy/stormy most of the day, neither BBC nor MetO agree with that option.

The heat today is awful - worse humidity I have experienced for a few years. Will be extremely disapointment if we aren't rewarded with a decent storm for putting up with this today

Well feeling hot here, and although there is a sea breeze,  there is nothing cooling about it. The breeze is warm and makes you feel even hotter when blowing through shade.
