Agree, with the cloud that builds up usually and the threat of storms I see 36c as an absolute maximum

Closer to 30c-32c more widely.

36c in my opinion will be very localised, if it even happens.

Are we due any thunderstorms in the south over the next few days?

ill be very disappointed if summer ends without a massive bang, preferably an mcs from France

As just confirmed on look East. 36c most likely in Norwich

Temps anything from 29c to 34c across the region on Friday.

Im going with 30c on average across most of region due to cloud and potential heavy shower activity.

Thinking tomorrow could be hotter overall across all areas over our patch than Friday.

Even Claire Nassir or whatever her name is, on Instagram stories on behalf on the met office is announcing that 37c on Friday is dependent on cloud cover.

My gut feeling is we won’t beat the July record due to cloud amounts.

The higher temperatures tomorrow and more particularly on Friday are the result of a reload of hot air and having experienced a similar set up in Germany, I think you'll be surprised that even the gusts below the clouds will be oppressively hot. At 39oC it's like walking into a hairdryer. Max temps in East Anglia today appeared to be 31oC around Chelmsford so 35-36oC will be noticeably hotter.

Friday's front seems to be downgrading on each run, pushing storms further north and suggesting that the SE corner could still see 25/26oC over the weekend. Bring it on.

I think a low of 24c overnight in itself will break records .

Edit , been corrected below these are midnight temps , so likely to be lower.

For me it feels noticeably less hot this evening.

I'd say my body has started to get used to the heat although the temp is around 23C which is a good 3C less than yesterday.

Have to say, I could definitely feel the humidity today though.

Is everyone enjoying the hot weather? I’m in warmish northern Italy for a few weeks, certainly not been what I would call hot here, had some lightning shows that were good fun.. Anyway stay cool everyone, love and kisses from italy. :air_kiss:

Evening guys,

I must admit it actually feels even more uncomfortable and stifling out in Folky Town this evening than it has does in past nights.

I have a gig that I need to set up for on Friday afternoon over in Thanet - Fantastic.

I'm going to melt.

Heathrow 27.5C @ 10pm!

Yuk. Feel for the poor folk living nearby. 24C here at the moment and that’s bad enough. A breeze has picked up in last 15 minutes “thank you weather God” so hoping for some sleep tonight. Day 61 without rain in my village

Well... A reasonable night's sleep here in Tunbridge Wells... Only because I'm sleeping on top of my bedroom fan!!!! A lot of farmers round here are now feeding their livestock hay due to little grass being available..

Another disturbed nights sleep here in S.E.London. Really had enough of this heat now!! Had to come downstairs for a couple of hours and sit under our lounge fan. Despite having our bedroom fan on full blast, just felt as if it was circulating hot air and it's a decent brand too. Problem is, our bedroom is tiny and the heat just builds and builds and doesn't disperse. Having had a brain haemorrhage/stroke in 2015, my energy levels are zilch!! The last few weeks, have really wiped me out!!Roll on Autumn!!

Regards,

Tom.
