Further to my comment the other day about there being plenty of spider webs starting to appear.

This morning was the first time that we have had the late summer early autumn morning dew as i walked on my grass and it was damp and not from watering it, also across the road the low vegetation in Gunners Park was also damp low down.

Fairly thick cloud cover here today. Noticeable cooler feel than Monday and Tuesday.

And the reason behind the cloud increasing through the middle of the day, but clear either side with certain HP systems? Purely heat related/wind direction? Much preferred the clear blue sky days back in May and June when the wind came from the east to this humid set-up. Happy for a link to read if that's easier... Thanks

Doesn't feel that bad up here in London. At least the really hot weather will only be restricted to two days

Moist maritime air and pressure not quite so high. Also the decayed remnants of fronts causing high cloud. Tomorrow and Friday will see a direct continental flow with higher uppers, so I’d expect cloud not to be an issue unless storms break out on Friday.

Thanks, much appreciated. And looks like the same continental flow for the first week of August for the SE. Just love the clarity of air that direction brings.

Great weather for all the “flip flop” dads who can “work from home” .

I’m looking forward to hopefully returning to some more normal conditions in the near future ?

A very still afternoon with just patchy fair weather cloud. Slowly a slack southerly is beginning to develop with temperatures continuing to rise as we head into late afternoon. Probably falling short of 30c today.

Temp rocketed here up to 30c at 17:30 after a very slow start with cloud and temps only at 26c by 15:00

What a difference once the cloud breaks

Yep just see that, why are the Met Office going for 37c?

Who will be right?

Normally, I'd back the Met...But on this occasion - what's in one degree?
