I think there will be a hosepipe ban by mid-August

I'm going for Aug 13 followed by weeks of rain from the 14th.

Eventually we'll have to pay for all this dry weather. The universe gives and the universe takes...

It's getting so hard to keep cool in the heat that I even resorted to listening to thunder and lightning YouTube videos as it is the nearest thing I have to the real thing.  My outside temperature according to my garden thermometer is 29 °C  (in the shade) but the Thurrock Weather website (stationed in Tilbury) has it at 31.8 °C .

I'm hoping the high-pressure theme continues into winter but with a scandi high❄️

Well it looked for a while that the cloud was going to completely build up but clearer skies are appearing here. Approaching 32C with a gentle Southwesterly breeze.

This is the hottest day of the year so far and quite comfortably so.

"Comfortably" it is not - like an Iranian cyclists jockstrap, sat here at my desk with paper being blown around due to the open window, and a fan circulating hot air.

Comfortably as in far higher than any maxima seen so far this year in this part of the world. Strangely it looks like the 30C and 90F barrier will go on the same day. Fair to say this is the hottest it has felt here since probably the 1st July 2015 when it hit 35C up this way.

I have no idea how I'm going to get through work this week! I have a wedding and a music festival to shoot, no escape from the heat for me.
I'm just really hoping my tent lives up to the job, it's especially designed to keep cool, black on the inside and white on the outside.

I know, just joshing mate. As wonderful as it is, I'd love to be out side sitting in it, not at work.

Mostly, most are!
The last two I have melted and have had to have an outfit change half way through. It's already hard work carrying about 10kg of gear all day without heat on top of that!

The cloud has pretty much melted away now so a long sunny and hot evening ahead. 32C recorded from London all the way up to Lincoln today, whilst some probably are not enjying the heat I guess it is only fair for eastern areas to see some hot conditions given how the length of time this summer we have seen winds from the north east.

Still a toss of a coin to whether Thursday or Friday will be the hottest day, it depends on how far west the hottest air gets and how fast the front pushes though at the end of the week.

The clouds keep on coming and going.  Earlier on the sky was clouded over and now the sky is clear with bright sunshine.

Hope you all enjoy the Hot Weather.

A bit miserable here in NW England overcast skies but very Humid current Temperature of 27c  it the kind of day that you walk 100 yards and you are wet through

Just an example of how ridiculous the strength of the sun is...it takes a lot for me to burn as I have olive skin. Been out in the sun for 5 minutes getting the washing in and my skin already has a red tinge to it.
