Its raining AT LAST

It actually is but it’s evaporating the second it hits the ground. Car is barely wet.

And of course this unforecasted cloud will limit heating and convection further.

that bit was forcast, its associated with a surface low in channel.. It looks like its starting to clear some good breaks starting to show further west.. BUT if it lingers past midday then yes it wont aid at all in any thunderstorms and might prevent them.. Certainly further East..

Can't say I was surprised to read the storms probably won't happen. Not surprised at all.

It drives a woman to mop the kitchen floor, so it does.

BBC have been all over the place this week as regards to what will happen this weekend/end of the week, Sarah Keith-Lucas last Sunday said cooler unsettled conditions spreading down from the north west (against model outputs) then a day later Darren Bett said this wouldn't happen. Low and behold by Wednesday predicting some storms breaking out over central parts and the Home counties around Friday (which the Beeb actually said 'at least there will be rainfall for some parts in need' and today now hearing no storms...come on this is poor forecasting in the extreme.

Currently 23C and with a fair bit of AC, moving pretty much east to west...Not really holding out too much hope for and thundery rain, later on...All one can do is hope, I suppose!?️

That rain in the far SE is moving north. Must be the first significant rain for most?

It is beautiful haha!!

Looks like it’s being pushed NE. Not sure if clearing up later will cause any storms to pop up.

Yes - just staying away to the East of us. Quite dark, and although it's only 19 degrees, humidity is at 83%, so feeling fairly uncomfortable.

Started raining very lightly, as in you can feel it but no evidence on ground orchard around 8:00 this morning then it slowly got heavier, recently had some moderate rain, now seems to be trying to stop again. At least it wasn't heavy stuff, that would have just rolled away. It has had the chance to soak into the parched earth, you couldn't really ask for better right now. Any of the.models forecast this rain?

There are Nimbostratus clouds forming in the sky.  The humidity is bad that I have now got a headache.  I have look on the Thurrock weather website and that there will be rain at times and it will be very unsettled.

Very messy mix of cumulus and mid level cloud here with the sun appearing from time to time. Very sticky with the temperature hovering at 27C.

Lots of cloud today here with limited sunshine. Felt like a storm was brewing earlier and was humid but now feels fresher and a breeze has picked up. 23C currently.
