Just arrived back at Heathrow from a wonderful week away in Spain. Great to see blue skies and sunshine, and a pleasant 25C.

Down in south Essex for the weekend, 25c with clear blue skies. Surprisingly for me it is warmer back home at 26c which was higher than forecast.

Up to 25C here today...the fresh NE'erly is barely making any difference at all...

I'm getting used to it...I went outside and got goose-flesh. It's 25C and the tarmac is melting!☀️

Lovely. Got home from work early and sunbathed with a book.

Another stunning day.

This fine spell reminds me of when I visit the South Western coast of Portugal towards Sines.

Hot by day but the humidity is not there & actually gets quite chilly in the nights like it has done here the past days

Stiff old breeze currently here taking the edge off, especially in the shade.

Looks like Sunday could be the first humid feeling day of this fine spell.

I say fine, as although it’s sunny and at times hot during the day, being a Londoner all my life the intensity of heat past heatwaves just hasn’t been there during this one.

Heatwave for NI & Scotland yes, well anything over 20c is a heatwave for them.

I actually prefer the lower humidity & temps hovering around 25-27c, no cloud build up then.

The term 'Pharaohs sock' comes to mind currently...no rain in the foreseeable and not so foreseeable.

The weekend is here;

Tomorrow

A much better day for those near the coasts (Well Norfolk at least) as the wind veers more easterly and as such we develop a more continental element to the airmass. No real change in humidity but the temperatures should be a little higher. After early low clear burns away it should be suny for all.

arpegeuk-41-27-0.png?29-19

26-29C inland, low twenties on the coast

Sunday

Really simple, it will be sunny from dawn till dusk, just the outside chance of a shower in the far south of the region, but this is only a slim chance.

The temperatures are pretty stunning and te 850s are backed up by the ECM, low thirties quite possible inland, low to mid twenties by the coast but again a much warmer and more humid feel to the day.

Next week looks a little messy but it should be mostly dry and warm/very warm with only the chance of a few showers, the potential as we enter the second week of July is if anything for pressure to build substantially again. But that is still a fair way again.

Another fantastic day - what has been so great about this spell is the lack of humidity and cool nights. Sunday night has the potential to be a little sticker but thereafter nights look relatively comfortable.

Not so emotionally-charged as the East Anglian classic The Night of the Living Cack, I suppose - but Norwich Noir still has a wee bit to go?:D

Tomorrow looks like a scorcher! The humidity will increase too by the looks of things! Clear start here, current temp. 18.3c

Current synoptics look similar to what we had in May - going from a fresher East/North east but sunny to more of a humid hotter continental feed but this time without the potential of storms. Never seen so much blocked looking charts as these persisting for so long!

Snap-ish - arrived back at Gatwick last night to 25+ degrees indoors at 1am after a week in Cyprus where it hit 33 quite regularly, but with access to a swimming pool and beach to cool off. The advantage of the hot weather here is the lawn is yellow rather than overgrown so not in need of mowing on our return, but the downside is obviously the lack of lovely green grass to enjoy while keeping the tan topped up. The sky is gin clear this morning, absolutely beautiful, and the whole place has the feel of people keen to get out and enjoy the sunshine over the weekend with the school holidays and annual leave season not yet in full swing.

I wish it would rain or just cool down. Having a bug in this weather is not funny. Fed up with drinking just water and having mainly dry toast. Can't sleep due to the heat no matter how many fans are on.

Cracker again, low cloud gone pretty early today, now up at 28c which is par for warmest in the UK. Nice breeze too!

Another bootiful day. 28c here.

Low 30s tomorrow looks likely. Tonight will feel more humid, the first night of this fine spell where it might actually feel a bit sticky sleeping, been so used to the cool nights and so far haven’t had to put the fan on in the bedroom.

Hope the higher humidity tomorrow doesn’t cause cloud to build up and spoil the sunshine

I wish it was like this until late October, with one or two thundery spells thrown in. Proper summer, lovely.
