Apart from some early drizzle, today has been nowt other than dull, grey grot!

With Sunday and yesterday such beautiful days it has been a bit of a let down today with this heavy cloud and a high, thus far, of 15C.  Think the weekend and yesterday was the first time this month we've had consecutive sunny days.  Phone's MetO app changes hourly with sun symbols vanishing quicker than Trump from the G7 meeting.

The sun has come out since my last post, about 30 mins after it.

Cloudy but warm this morning on the allotment, turned cooler by lunchtime, now the sky has gone a bit darker and  getting light drizzle. If it's going to rain can it please get on with it - I'm fed up with watering the allotment

I agree. All this dark grey cloud is a complete waste of time if all it does it give 5 minutes of drizzle. I wish it would chuck it down for a few hours then clear up with sunshine. Spent the day at my allotment and it’s bone dry so could do with a decent fall of rain here.

Its a bit dull and dreary that's for sure and we certainly could do with some rain. Been at the allotment too, spuds doing well,it's dry but not as dry as I was expecting it to be. Some showers later in the week hopefully, with some sun aswell.

Outlook looking a bit boring. Nought to get excited about either way.

The 'azores high chase' is in full swing on the mod thread.

Sun came out at 5pm. Gone again now  but at least temperature has struggled up to 17.5

The Annual moans of ‘no rain’ is in full swing I see... happens every year.

Wont be to long before your all complaining of to much rain.

This is the UK. Cherish prolonged dry spells - don’t complain about it.

I do outdoor sports and have 2 dogs, the rain can stay well away thanks very much.

My Local farmer happy with current conditions when I see him on the 6am dog walks, with the horrendous wet early spring with bogged fields this weather is still welcome!

If your flowers are dry, fill up a watering can. Job done.

Your local soil must be proper clay, that holds water and gets boggy if it rains a lot. Here, it’s more silty and dries out quickly, despite all the rain we had earlier this year. I don’t think anyone on the forum wants endless rain and floods. Just some useful rain from time to time to naturally water crops on allotments and gardens, interspersed with warm sunshine. Watering with a hose or can is fine up to a point, but a good rainfall works wonders and the plants prefer it.

Rainwater is better for crops and much more environmentally friendly than using ground sourced water, especially here in the overcrowded south east.

If the ground is too wet for you get some boots and get some hats for your pooches.

Yep I’ll get right onto that. Stick boots on my dogs

Of course it’s more environmentally friendly, that wasn’t my point.

However wishing for rain because he hasn’t pi**ed down for 7 days seems ludicrous given we live in the UK and it will soon be very wet again before we know it.

Lovely morning here, if chilly. Looks like a nice day ahead, before it goes downhill tonight.

The good news is that yesterday's North Sea crud was the last for several days at least; the not-so-good news is that it's steadily getting grey and grotty - from the west - as I type!

It's lovely and sunny here, with some fair weather cloud moving south.

What an absolutely stunning day.. Not a cloud in site..

As for tomorrow's storm I really think down here we will be like what is all the fuss about while the north take a bit of a pounding from wind and rain

Even the rain band that's meant to push through looks nothing more than a bit of drizzle..

Moving forward, north south split sets in I think with us getting the better weather and a taste of summer while the north takes on a bit more cloud and rain

Methinks the grot, up here, must be a very weak trailing warm front. So, hopefully will get better soon?

A bit? Total cloud cover in London now which wasn’t meant to happen. Yet another forecasting bust. The daily forecasts have been atrocious over the past few weeks.

Still nice and sunny here, can see something that looks like a shower, to my north somewhere.

Turned out okay in the end: hazy sunshine, 21C and a moderate SW wind, making it the warmest day for more than a week.:yahoo:
