The potential is now there. The band crossing W Sussex into Hampshire has fired off a few shots. Just need it to develop further east.

The south/south west showers are really pepping up.

Not only do the French hog all the decent storms, they have the tenacity to get them killed off as they head out over the channel, AND THEN send the storm inhibiting junk cloud to our shores.

This specifically applies to the coast, as inland areas will see the beef later.

Finally got some sun so maybe this will help a bit although when I can my surprise the other day it had been cloudy all day.

Just heard a rumble of thunder, hopefully something develops in the north sea and heads east.

Not that hopeful of much, hopefully famous last words. Tuesday was horrendous round here though so in a way it's good if we miss out

Watch the radar! There are cells developing all around London and getting further south and east

Not looking good we are far to east unless something develops in the channel.

The sun's out but the temp has dropped to 15C...I reckon there's more chance of getting a blizzard than seeing a thunderstorm?

Had a 15 minute heavy shower earlier but no thunder. Now very humid with sunny spells.

Thought we had another shower incoming but turned to the north...it seems all the showers/storms across central southern England are heading north west while ours are going north...maybe something coming off the north coast of France now though?

Feels very muggy here. After a cloudy day the sun has managed to brake through and warm things up.

Current sky here looking South/West

Thunder heard here just now. Some sunny spells today which felt very warm, reached 24C.
