Tasty storm here in SW19 now.Incredibly dark too.

Doesn't compare to Saturday nights show. That will take some beating.

I make that 4 storms in 5 days.

It's been persisting it down in waves all morning, with 3 bouts of thunder/lightning in the mix. I got drenched getting the milk and paper first thing. It's still 17C so not really cold with it!

Apologies peeps...what I thought were towering cumulus clouds was in fact a line of ACcas, the base of which was hidden by murk!

Impressive storm this morning in Southend. Torrential rain with some flooding near my work, and thunder and lightning pretty much over head.

I don't know about that! I thought it was tailing off until that last almighty clap of thunder. Had several in the last few minutes. Seems like the final hurrah for this system.

Can concur with that Mark. That was the loudest crack of thunder we've had, here. Been rumbling around now, for over two hours.

Regards,

Tom.

Just as I thought the storm was coming to an end, we get more lightning and thunder!

Today has put me in mind of my old school days of the 1980's/90's where could thunder on and off throughout the day whilst sat in a stuffy classroom.  Feels like years since I last experienced a day like today.

The final tail of the storm certainly seems to have some clout to it Tom.

Torrential rain again, with increasing thunder.

Heavy rain has eased off a little but still pelting it down! Distant but load cracks of thunder with a few bits of lightning seen.

Shocking day here, missed the storms and stuck on the edge of the cloud band meaning it’s been overcast, grey and cold with a max of 16c. Now 14c and rank.

Been in Eastbourne all day - just annoying low cloud and mist - feels warm though. Looking at the radar I’ve been missing some great storm action in Bromley back home :(

Definitely the embodiment of thundery rain here, been raining for over three hours now, with embedded heavier pulses and associated, thunder.

Regards,

Tom.

A shed load of storms have fired up over the Netherlands though. Some model outputs do show them clustering and making their way westwards overnight and into tomorrow. Norfolk and Suffolk could get in on some action over the next few days I think.

Yep can see your Sevenoaks storm from here, seems to be building south and east as well

Yes, warren, these embedded cells still seem to be back-building, well down into Kent. Recently saw a forecast from Stav Danaos suggesting this thundery rain, could last into the evening.

Regards,

Tom.

It's cleared up a little here, but I've never seen cloud moving so fast in the opposite direction to where the weather is coming from!
