I'm in bed with the window open. I feel like I can hear very distant rumbling.

The anvil is over us, so it's possible. It's quite windy where I am, not sure if I can hear rumbles, been thinking planes.

There's a weird alarm going off I haven't heard before, hope nothing has happened in the channel.

What you mean like a boat alarm or something?

Just an alarm, sounds could be from the industrial estate, but it sort of sounds similar, but different to the ports fog alarm.

I thought I could hear very (very!) distant rumbling here too a few minutes ago. Stopped now and can just hear a plane going over.

Trying to stay awake to see what happens but too sleepy. No work this week at least though if it does decide to make landfall later on and wake me up!

I don't think so this time, but we'll see.

It's keeping the lightning but I don't think it'll reach us for a different t reason. It's turned to move west rather than north west I think.

PS I can here distant rumbles now.

It's been hard to believe anything has been going on, here in Chelmsford it's been nothing but bits of cloud and occasional blue skies for days and really dry, all this talk of storms seems like I'm in a different country.

Finally reached us after spinning it's way across the Dover strait last night. Plenty of heavy rain and rumbles, a few strikes now showing up over East Kent.

Low cloud well on its way to burning off, moderate NE breeze and 15C. So a wee bit less unpleasant feeling than yesterday was? Thunderstorms later? Who knows?

Although it got here and I was awake, I didn't hear it, the rumbles must have been so quiet, and my house is solid.

Edit may have not hit me yet, building just of shore, very rapidly, may be my turn in a minute perhaps.

Beefy line of storms has formed over Belgium over the last two hours. On direct course for Kent and growing northwards and southwards.

Cool thunderstorm with flashing, the odd strike and bangs!

I did notice a cold draft with this storm and it's gone dark :)

Gradually getting closer. Can't see any lightning though as it's too bright.
